The presence of a large number of mosquitoes and flies in the village also causes a nuisance to the villager. Several methods of controlling flies and mosquitoes are in place. This includes integrated pest management, chemical management, mechanical management, and environmental management. Each of the methods has its own advantages and disadvantages. The use of integrated pest management involves the use of a combination of methods to control mosquitoes and flies. Integrated pest management has been selected for the project and it is set to cost $ 7920.

The trade-off analysis indicates that the method has some minimal environmental effects due to the use of the chemicals. However, the method will provide more benefits to the community members despite the minimal environmental effects. The implementation of the project will take up to eight weeks and it will not require many maintenance practices as few structures will be constructed. The project will have several requirements for it to be successful. Labor is one of the main requirements of the project.

It will however be provided by the community members voluntarily. This will play an essential role in ensuring that the cost of labor is reduced. Various tools will however be required during the implementation of the project. It is also important to note that the cost-benefit analysis indicates that the benefits of the project outweigh the costs that will be incurred. This is because the project will save the lives of the people since the diseases transmitted by the flies are deadly. On the other hand, it is also important to note that the project will have positive impacts on the health as well as the education of the children in the village.

The deaths of pregnant women, as well as the children from the diseases transmitted by flies and mosquitoes, will be reduced. It is also important to note that the project will not change the traditions of the people which is a factor that will ensure that the project is fully supported by the community. The team was able to achieve its goals and objectives through close consultations.

What is covered in the report The report covers the issues surrounding the management of fly and mosquito. This includes designs and methods that will be used during the management of mosquitoes and flies. The design details as well as the implementation plans will also be covered extensively in the report.

The impacts and sustainability issues regarding fly and mosquito management will also be analyzed in the report. This will involve the effects that the fly and the mosquitoes have on the communities living at the hill top. The focus of the report will be in Gorka District in Nepal and specifically Sandikhola village. Context of the problem Sandikhola village in Gorka district is located in a hilly geographical area. The elders have command a lot of respect from the other community members. The number of women is higher that that of men and women are actively involved in manual capabilities. Requirements and analysis Basic requirements The students are required to provide an integrated design solution to two or more design areas. A fly and mosquito management plan should be developed by the student participating in the challenge. Sensitivity to the cultural beliefs should also be considered during the process of developing the designs.

The design solution should also have the ability of providing long term solutions to the fly and mosquito management process in the area. The future needs to of the community should be considered in the project.
