The Philippines may have a general unemployment rate of 6 to 7% but it does not mean that there is no opportunity in the country for IT professionals. The country is in fact in shortage of IT professionals that it even intends to hire foreign professionals in the field of IT.

Expatriates or foreign workers in the field of IT are highly respected in the Philippines because they want to learn from global talents to make their capability world-class. But one has to make sure he or she is an expert in the field because Filipinos are highly capable people and will readily sack foreign workers who are not up to the task.
Culturally, it will not be difficult to adjust to Philippine culture because they are highly westernized and hospitable. It is imperative though that one must learn how to speak English because it is the language of the professionals in the country.
