Once in a while, organizations encounter communication problems. These problems need instantaneous solutions given the dire nature and magnitude of communication in an organization. Over view of the organization Kahiki Foods is one of the most respected players in the food industry. Over the years, the organization endured rough terrain in business to end up a multi-billion dollar food company. The organization attained massive milestones and increased both efficiency and productivity. In addition, since 2007, Kahiki Foods reduced financial constraints by realigning the cost of production and enhancing efficiency by reducing the time lags in the queuing system.

However, while seeking to excel in the food industry, Kahiki Foods has severe communication problems. First, the employees at Kahiki Foods overwhelmingly complain of one-way communication. This implies that there is no feedback from the management about an array of issues. The impact of one-way communication is detrimental to the performance of the employees and their general welfare. This is because; the employees feel neglected as management fails to disseminate appropriate information to the necessary quarters.

Personal issues among the employees, as well as management, also hinder appropriate communication at the establishment. Professionalism is paramount at the workplace as it assists the daily operations, as well as the organization’s growth, to flow accordingly. However, when employees and management allow personal issues into the communication pattern, a problem will erupt. For instance, two people failing to communicate on eminent business matters based on personal disagreements tarnish the company’s development agenda (Downs, Adrian & Downs, 2004).

This does not only slow down the growth rate of an organization but also damages the company’s interactions with outsiders. Language barrier is also prevalent in Kahiki foods emanating from the fact that the organization has a global appeal. Kahiki foods attain human resources from all corners of the world. This implies that people from different walks of life interact with Kahiki foods. The language barrier is a result of different ethnic backgrounds creating misunderstandings and undermining communication efficiency in the organization.

Finally, human nature deprives the world of sincerity. This implies that there lack of honesty at the place of work mainly from both quarters. This in itself abundantly undermines communication efficiency and effectiveness (Clampitt, 2010). Possible solutions Some of the impending issues hindering communication are personal and hence difficult to resolve. It is at times difficult for the management to realize what is happening until it is too late. However, Kahiki Foods management should endeavor to provide feedback to the employees.

This clearly shows that the management is up to task to handle all the concerns raised by the employees. It is also beneficial to train the employees for them to practice professionalism and shun personal issues (Sypher, 2007). This will ensure that the organization members overlook the personal interest and seek to stimulate organizational growth. In addition, Kahiki Foods recently partnered with Milliken Performance Solutions. This consultancy firm will tremendously aid Kahiki Foods in addressing the communication problem.
