Brain Drain:Introduction: Brain drain is an issue that is of a great concern to the various countries of the world. Brain drain is also referred to as human capital flight, and it depicts the emigration of educated or talented people. This movement of educated or talented people has the capability of destroying or sabotaging the economic system of a state. This is mainly because the country under consideration will lack professionals who are skilled enough to transform their domestic economies.

Zweig and Chen (3) argues that this term is on most occasions used to refer to the departure of skilled professionals such as financial experts, doctors, engineers, and scientists. When this people emigrate from the country, the country is vulnerable in two major ways. At first, the country will lose a supply of skilled labor. The second method is that there will be a reduction in spending within an economy. This is because these professionals normally earn a large sum of money, and they use this money within an economy (Dodani , 487).

This ensures that there is a circulation of money within an economy. When they move outside the country, there will be a limited circulation of money, and this may cause inflation, or negative economic growth within a country. The United States is one of the leading countries that normally attract professionals of all calibers. This is because the country has one of the best education systems, and it has a stable economy that would guarantee employment opportunities to these professionals.

Dodani (489) explains that most students also prefer looking for employment as opposed to going back to their countries after they finish their studies. This has made countries such as China to initiate policies that would encourage their students to come back to China after studies in America. An example of such kind of a policy is the 1000 talent program that offers various incentives, including cash rewards to Chinese students abroad (Zweig, 3). This is with the intention of convincing them to come back to the country, and use their talents for the development of the country.

Based on this analysis, the topic that the researcher seeks to find information on is the reasons as to why most students prefer staying in the United States after their graduation. Furthermore, I will seek to find out whether this is a problem, and the people who are mostly affected by this problem. This paper also seeks to find out on whether these students should go back to their home countries, or should they stay in the United States. This topic of brain drain is very wide topic, and to effectively understand it, we need to narrow it under a certain thematic connotation.

On this basis, the topic the researcher came with the topic, on why students prefer staying in the US after graduation. Through this topic, the researcher I will analyze the economic and social status of United States, and why it attracts most students who study in it. The major stakeholders in this research include the government of the United States, Students, and Universities. Other stakeholders include various countries that these students come from, most notably China. In a lay persons view, the major reason as to why most students prefer remaining in the United States after their studies is based on the fact that United States is a super power.

The major assumptions in this paper are the following;Students prefer remaining in the United States because it has better and well paying job opportunities.Students prefer remaining in the United States because they feel that they can develop their skills or talents better, as opposed to returning to their country.Based on these facts, the following are the research questions that this paper aims to answer;Why do students who come to study in America choose to remain in the country?Is this situation a problem, and to whom?

It starts by analyzing the educational resources in third world countries, when compared to the first world countries.

It also analyzes the economic advantages that professionals who migrate to developing countries such as United States are able to enjoy. On this basis, this article talks about the negative impact of brain drain in third world countries, and the reasons as to why it has to be stopped. On this basis, this journal article is able to answer the question as to whom this concept of brain drain affects the most. That is the countries upon which these students are coming from. This journal article further identifies how to prevent brain drain, and hence attract the best professionals within an economy.

This is because the country that sends, and the one that receives students will both benefit from this situation.

The author recognizes the dangers of brain drain, and hence she denotes that it has to be discouraged at all costs. Zweig and Chen explain the major impact of brain drain in China, and the reasons as to why the Chinese government should encourage these students to return. This book is relevant to the research questions mainly because it provides an answer as to the reasons as to why the Chinese students prefer remaining in the United States, after their studies, as opposed to coming back and utilizing their skills in China.

Furthermore, this book gives an overview of the American education system, and the reason as to why it is attractive to most students in China, and the world. Conclusion:In conclusion, most of these authors support the notion that brain drain is a negative aspect to the sending country. This is because it has the capability of sabotaging the economy of the country under consideration. Furthermore, brain drain would lead to the loss of highly skilled workers, resulting to their shortage in the sending country.

This is one of the major reasons as to why China is seeking ways of returning its professionals home. The researcher therefore maintains that students learning in the United States are reluctant to come back to their countries, and this is because United States is an economic giant, and they have better opportunities in this country.
