My Three Favorite Things - Essay Example

If it is trying new meals, you can count me in. I love the idea of trying new things in the kitchen. My favorite part is spending hours looking into cooking shows. Holidays are the perfect time where I practice my cooking skills. My family comes together each time I cook my favorite homemade pies and my famous three cheese Bazekitti. I always invite family and friends over when I make such a meal. I am a sucker for cooking in large quantities. Once everyone has had enough at the table, they can take some home for later.

I prefer cooking my meals instead of going to the fast-food option. I feel homemade meals are much healthier. Furthermore, I get the chance to see my family and friends every time I cook. I believe being together as a family is a gift in the current society. Most people in the world do not have the time to learn how to cook. Cooking was the most favorite activity with my mother. My grandmother always joked how cooking was easy. “All you do is whip up a meal” that’s what she used today.

We bonded with my grandmother each time we cooked together. Another favorite activity I like doing at home is cleaning. At a tender age, I was taught the importance of staying in a clean environment. When I got my own place, I ensured that every item was in the right place and neat. This saved me from saving when searching for something. I always have a fear of having an unexpected visit with my house in a mess. That is why I always keep my house in order and clean. I ensure that everything in my house is cleaned to the core.

My cleaning habit is not only in my home, but it also extends to my job. My closet at work is full of cleaning products. I have disinfectants for the kitchen, bathroom, and even dishes. My better half always remarks that I have OCD. I cannot stand and live where there is a mess around. My cleaning habit earned me the nickname of “Mrs. Clean” from my workmates. Shopping is another addiction that I have in my life. I always go to the stores each time I am running out of something in the house.

During my days off the job, you will find me busy doing online shopping sites. I buy anything from toys, clothes, cleaning items, and shoes with a reasonable price tag. I have childhood memories of shopping. My early childhood life revolved around being at school, the mall, and back home. My friends always throw tantrums on how much time I spend just shopping. I shop for anything, let it be clothing, cars and most importantly, new clothes. My parents always worked late. Each day they were stuck at the job.

I was busy at the mall. My parents did not have any problem with this as long as I was back home before they arrived. In most cases, they did not even know that I spent the whole day wandering at the mall. As I got older, it only made my addiction worse since I had all the time in the world. I spent the day the same way, but it became harder, especially with the thoughts of doing homework. Basing on my three favorite things essay, my list starts with cooking, cleaning, and shopping. When I do either of these things, I feel happy and accomplished.

In case I go a week without doing any of these things, I feel like something is wrong. Performing these things creates a balance in my life and also my job. My job needs somebody who knows how to perform these three activities to the core. You need to pay attention to these things to do a complete job.
