She also developed a strong theoretical framework in order to support her claim that women are getting attracted to fellow ladies because of their personalities and gender is irrelevant in this regard. Secondly, she proposed that women with changed and modified sexual identities have to be induced so that they can come forward in terms of supporting the research. The featured article is exploratory in nature and therefore, the writer cannot define any specific findings but what she did was to establish new avenues for investigation in vast areas of lesbian sexual identity.

Thirdly, she claims that the current findings in the material field of research are not enough with respect to their ability to explain the lesbian mindset in totality. Diamond continued to argue that the media’s role in promoting confusion amongst females is immense and she treated the information as a fact. However, according to her views, media and the male-dominated culture of America are explaining an insignificant part of lesbian sexual identity’s total pie chart. The ladies who are known to indulge in this kind of behavior have some other motivator for their attitudes and actions.

She highlighted one possible explanation for the recent developments in sexual identity are men’s ruthless behaviors towards women and therefore, they are turning to other ladies in order to have their sexual desires fulfilled. The members of the same gender are supposedly able to understand and fulfill each other’s needs in a better way. In short, the article asked the right questions and reaffirmed the need for further research by backing it up with facts and figures. The research in sexual identity was taken to a new level by Lisa Diamond.

The author triggered curiosity in readers by identifying understanding of sexual identity change in young ladies as flawed. This claim grabbed the utmost attention of the reader because he or she was confident that every source of lesbian identity development is covered and then the audience got more confirmed about the shortcomings of research because of lack of statistical proof.
