"The Five Biggest Problems in Healthcare Today" is a wonderful example of a paper on the health system. The healthcare industry is one that is vulnerable to many challenges as it is directly related to society. Furthermore, the global economic crisis has made healthcare spending and availability an issue for numerous countries including the United Kingdom and the United States. There are many issues affecting the healthcare system and these include too much unnecessary care, insufficient healthcare personnel, and lack of an appropriate insurance plan in the United States (Binder, 2013). There are several possible solutions to these problems and the paper will rank the above issues in terms of solutions available.
  1. Lack of appropriate insurance in the United States

The lack of insurance is a problem that is mainly attributed to the fact that the healthcare system in the United States is largely private. There are many countries that are successful in healthcare providers such as France or Canada which invest less in their system than the U.S.

  1. Too much unnecessary care

According to studies, unnecessary care comprises approximately fifty percent of all healthcare costs. This issue can be resolved through strategic policy implementation which aids in ensuring that the funding is aimed towards the appropriate healthcare sectors. Hospitals can also take other approaches towards their provision of care to reduce unnecessary spending.

  1. Insufficient personnel

The issue of insufficient personnel is one that is more difficult to resolve. The majority of countries have a physician deficit and this is further worsened by the economic situation. The ways in which this aspect can be improved are limited.
