ADHD does not have any predefined symptoms and that is the reason why it is so confusing to diagnose a patient with the disorder. ADHD-affected children have problems focusing on one thing and are easily distracted. Also, they have the urge to act recklessly and dangerously. Moreover, they also daydream and get very easily confused, and are fidgety, i.e., they have extreme trouble sitting still for extended durations of time like sitting in a class. Since younger males are more active than girls during this age, the disorder is also more commonly found in boys.

During 2003 and 2007, a study was done by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which showed that on average 13.2 percent of boys were affected by ADHD as compared to 5.6 percent of girls. ADHD is affecting a lot of young children; therefore the parents need to get their child taken for a checkup as soon as they can since early diagnosis can lead to a quick recovery.
