According to the report findings in psychopharmacology, the pharmacokinetics of how drugs, prescription and illicit, are studied to determine the effects on a person both physiologically and psychologically. This becomes important especially in the field of psychiatry and the development of pharmaceuticals to help cure mental illnesses. An example of this is the development of SSRIs, selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, which are used in order to help patients who suffer from primarily depression, but also a wide variety of other illnesses.

from this essay it is clear that drug dependence and abuse are also extremely important topics in this discipline. Drug dependence and addiction are almost synonymous in that there are two types: psychological addiction and chemical dependence. Psychological addiction is when there is a behavior which is made as a connection with the use of a drug (i.e. smoking while driving-the action of) and the chemical addiction is the point where the person has abused the substance that they cannot function properly without it.

Psychopharmacology helps in the treatment of those suffering from simple maladies such as headaches to major clinical disorders such as schizophrenia.

This is what allows medications to be made after the effects of them are researched. In psychiatry and counseling, the medications which are researched from psychopharmacology are then used to help in the treatment. Unfortunately, in society people are always looking for ways to achieve euphoria which sometimes results in the use and trafficking of illegal substances. The topics in psychopharmacology show how we become addicted and this can become especially important in law enforcement and criminology.

Personality development plays a lot in the context of education and group dynamics. The Kiersey profile, which tells you aspects about how you function based on your personality, is sometimes used in the business world in order to determine who the best person for the job is. Also, in the context of leadership, the way your personality developed will influence how you lead and help develop others in accordance to your leadership styles such as democratic, authoritative, etc (Thomas, 2006). In education, teachers work daily
