17th February 5 ways to listen better One of the major issues that TED Talks covers and which would link me to become a better student is listening to others. As Julian indicates, we should listen to each other. In this way, I would be in a position to identify and have a clear picture of the problems experienced by other people. Additionally, I would adopt the 1st way that TED Talks identifies. This implies that by taking 3 minutes per day in silence, I will be in a position to reset my hearing and become attentive (Julian 2).

With a lot of noise in the current world as indicated by TED Talks, I would also improve my listening quality through the use of the aspect of the mixture. This would allow my listening skills to improve especially in noisy working places. A positive relationship between workers and managers is vital. To become a better student and a worker, I would also apply the aspect that Julian refers to as RASA, which stands for receive, appreciate, summarise and ask questions. This will entail properly receiving the information that has been provided me by the instructors, appreciating the information, summarising it, and asking questions once I am faced with a challenge.

As I intermingle with other colleagues in offices, I will also take a good listening position. In this way, my listening would be active and critical. This will not allow me to get all the information that I will be listening to, but also to become empathetic and be in a position to handle challenges faced by my workmates and students.
