- Before transferring to Brandeis University, he studied for a shorter period of two years at the University of Minnesota

• Friedman holds a prominent position as a columnist in The New York Times where his columns are published twice a week.
• In 1981, he joined The New York Times as a reporter. His first assignment as a journalist was on the coverage of the war that took place between Israel and Lebanon in 1982.
• He also served as the Times Jerusalem Bureau Chief from 1984 to 1988.
• He was also inducted as the White House correspondent for the Times in 1992
• His writings revolve around foreign affairs. Mostly, he writes on global trade, politics in the Middle East, environmental issues, and the impact of globalization in general.
• Thomas Friedman has written extensively on different issues and topics from the Middle East Crisis to the World Economy, National and International Politics, and the impact of terrorism all around the world.

• Thomas Friedman has successfully managed to win the Pulitzer Prize three times in different years.
