Meanwhile Tonya is ravaged by her mother’s demise. Another scene, which is much evident in the film, is the scene that introduces Yury’s marriage to Tonya. He was at the time doing a job as a physician in a health center in Moscow. Yury gets a baby boy with his wife Tonya. At the same time, Lara whom Yury admires and has made advances to, marries her childhood lover Pasha. Lara and Pasha move away from Moscow to become tutors. They manage to get a baby girl though their relationship becomes complex. Thus, Pasha decides to join the army where he mysteriously disappears while in the army and Lara decides to work as an army nurse to try and search for him. The third scene, which shows Lean’s men competence in the film, is when the Red’s men kidnap Yury and they force him to do job for them as their nurse. After two decades working for the Red’s, Yury manages to run away through Siberia. Sick and tired, he arrives at Lara’s residence because Lara does not shift from one place to another. Lara takes care of him, they continue with their love affair until when Yury receives a letter from her spouse Tonya informing him that she has conceived a baby girl, and she will move away from Russia. Yury decides to look for his family and then Lara resolves on staying with Komarovsky to escape hazard. Strelnikov fires himself to death on realizing Lara’s affair with Yury and Yury decides to go back to Moscow, to his family. The scene that Campiotti and his team performed really well is the introduction scene where they introduce Lara and Yury as young children. They are depicted as young individuals ready to embark on life. Yury is from a very affluent household and does not anticipate anything will reform. However, when the revolt emerges, it is a little somehow as what transpired following September 11th, which means life takes a new turn wholly. The reason why these scenes were performed so precisely in the film is that they exhaustively brought out the real image of the characters and the motive of the film. They are so clear and non-ambiguous and thus they send the message straight to the viewers. The reason why I would like to keep them is that they bring out the sense of humor in the movie and motivate the viewers to want to view the next episode and see what will happen. In the Campiotti’s introduction scene, when little children view the film, they will know the emotions in the film. Question 2 The scenes, which were not greatly expounded in the film as in the novel by Lean and his team and Campiotti and his team include: The scene where Yury regularly meets Lara when he is visiting the library on a writing mission is not well done. Yury decides to leave Lara alone and cut of the affair between them; and as well inform his wife Tonya for the benefit of his family. Nevertheless, Liberius militia abducts him. Another scene that is not well done is the scene when Yury was doing the job in the army’s hospitals. The visiting of Misha to the hospital and their dialogue concerning the shocks of the latest government and the fight is not brought out fully. They arrange to run away together; however, before they manage to escape, the Germans attack and Yury is severely injured, and they cannot execute their plan. Another scene not well performed is the scene where Yury is kidnapped on a lengthy journey by train to the household domain in Varykino past the obliterated communities. Yury upon being kidnapped is let free by Commissar Strelnikov, who is actually Pasha. On reaching their destination, they find the previous workers in the residence; however, they are given a few cubes. The son is a significant Bolshevik elite known as Liberius. Nothing of these details is brought out in the film but they are in the very clear in the novel. The scene, which Campiotti and his company did not do well is the introduction scene. They did not bring out clearly the way Lara and Yury met; and the struggles Lara especially had, as a daughter of a widow. The manner in which Yury after being taken over by his uncle Kolya, he managed to emerge as a poet, physician, and entangled in love affairs. They did not do these scenes well since they did not give in details the accounts of the characters in those scenes. They just shallowly highlighted what transpired. They should have done better through giving a full account of each scene, its development, to its conclusion so that the viewers may get a clear picture and understanding of the film (Clowes, 1995, 167). Question 3 The scenes from the novel that Lean and his team did not use in the film but I would apply them include: The scene talking about one of the Gromeko’s musical festivities, where a violinist is called back at residence to look a fading comrade; who is Lara’s mother attempting to murder herself. Yury and his comrade Misha notice Lara and Komarovsky. Misha identifies Komarovsky as the male who had boarded the train with Yury’s father. I would apply this scene in the film to attempt to bring out the connection between Yury’s father’s demise and Komarovsky and the association Yury had with Komarovsky. This will help in explaining the start of the rivalry between Lara and Komarovsky as well as Yury. Another scene that is not used is the scene talking about the siblings Marina and Yury had together. Here Misha informs Yury to call Tonya, who stays in Paris, so that he can wed Marina, to agree with the latest policies and to recommence job. His half brother Yevgraf assists him reconstruct his life distant with his household. On his route to a job at the health center, Yury collapses of a heart attack. Lara comes to bid Yury goodbye and look for their baby girl who was brought up by unfamiliar persons in Moscow; never to be seen again. This scene is significant because it helps explain the deep love Lara had for Yury despite their challenges and the extended affair Yury had with Misha. I will deploy this scene it in the silver screen to bring out the connection that was there between Yury, Lara, and Misha behind Tonya’s knowledge. A different scene is where Yevgraf finds Tanya the missing sibling. Lara surrendered her since Komarovsky did not need siblings near him. Misha turns to an officer during the World War II and likes interpreting Yury’s manuscripts. I would use this scene because it explains how the missing sibling of Lara and Yury disappeared. This will help bring out the animosity in Komarovsky; not needing siblings near him. Lastly is the Komarovsky meeting with Lara through her mother who possesses a striving shop and is affected by the wicked Komarovsky, a comrade of her dead spouse. He exposes her to a sphere of luxury and she has an affair with him. Meanwhile, her best comrade Pasha is clandestinely in love with her. At the same time, the state in Moscow deteriorates further. I will use this scene to show how Komarovsky came to know Lara. This scene will help bring out the picture of the enmity between Lara and Komarovsky (Clowes, 1995, 169). Question 4 Pasternak’s Lara is shown as an adolescent daughter of a widow who has been fixed in a garment making enterprise by Komarovsky. Campiottis Lara is shown as a teenager who is ready to embark on life. Lean’s Lara is shown as a young lady who allows herself to be seduced by Komarovsky and eventually exposing herself in several love affairs. My Lara should not be so much perfect since she is only acting and characters must not behave perfectly. Question 5 Pasternak’s Zhivago is shown as a teenage boy standing at his Mother’s funeral and eventually taken by his uncle for upkeep. Campiotti’s Zhivago is shown as a teenager who is ready to embark on life. Lean’s Zhivago is shown as a young boy who involves himself in so many love affairs. My Zhivago must be masculine and responsible to take up his responsibilities. Question 6 Doctor Zhivago was the initial main western movie to air the disorder of the Russian revolt, paving the way for such afterward heroics like Nicholas and Alexandra.
