Extract of sample "Snatch by Guy Ritchie"

Snatch Guy Ritchie directs this movie and talks about the zombies, the underground people who want to find their way of accommodation in the society. The movie takes people back to the under land of London that does not involve the English criminals such as Dick Tracy. The characters used own the names of Runyonesque for example, Franky Four Fingers, and many more such names. The plot of the movie becomes very complicated to an extent that it becomes perverse and the titles used in the movie and in the narration mainly to identify the characters and to develop the plot. Ritchie has also added some bit of more wit to this work, Snatch, compared to his previous works. The movie describes the people who deserve to live in London and the people like the blacks, thieves among others who do not belong to London. In the previous work of Ritchie, the use of impenetrable accent by non-British was very common while in the current work; a character represented by Brad Pitt has played a major part in bringing up another complicated gypsy dialect that other characters find difficult to understand in the movie. The character represented by Brad Pitt, paradoxically finds it very easy to communicate using this language understood by less people than other characters who find it very difficult to communicate using the language understood by all. Brad Pitt sounds like the combination of professor Backwards and Adam Sandler. Therefore, this becomes an advantage to Brad Pitt since no one would really concentrate on his presence since no one understands the language he speaks thus he does not experience the discrimination as the rest face. Ritchie is a professional director, he is not interested in crime, but instead he pays more attention to the voltage. According to Hrubes, Postmodernist Intertextuality in David Mitchell's Cloud Atlas, the events of the play, Snatch, make it very interesting to viewers even if no one really hopes to understand the plot or rather no one of the viewers is very keen to understand the plot. The clothesline for Ritchie’s’ pyrotechnics is whereby he seems like very close to tell the audience that understanding the plot does not really matter that much. The plot of the play revolves around interlocked stories, which include, pigs, stolen diamonds, and wicked boxing. Franky Four Fingers steal a diamond from Belgium in Antwerp and runs back to London, two men, Avi, a gangster from America and Borris the Blade, a Russian, try to separate Franky Four Finger from the diamond. This becomes very hard to separate since he is handcuffed with the diamond to the wrist. Eventually, two shady promoters find themselves involved in the crime after Gorgeous George, a boxer, is found lying flat on the stomach after being knocked down. This leads to the recruitment of the gypsy is a very great fighter that London would not recognize, in desperation for a winner. Pigs feed on the bodies of the discriminated people. When the blacks, the thieves, and other discriminated groups of people die in London, pigs feast on their dead bodies. The part played by Pitt and gypsy constitute the most interesting parts of the movie. The characters in this movie have cartoon faces, and the actions seem outright and Ritchie is very aggressive in his camera style, which makes the movie captivating and interesting. Despite all these facts concerning the movie, the movie ends up nowhere in particular and it does not build or develop anybody. Therefore, this movie entertains more than it educates the viewers. The Snatch is partly a comedy and every event carried out is a dark comedy. It revolves around death and murder, and decay whereby in Snatch, Ritchie keeps on throwing things that just do not fit in the movie at that time just to break the monotony of deaths, murder, and decay. Stunning things like a Russian who just does not die, a man who has four fingers, and a dog that is able to swallow a squeaky toy among other stunning and strange things. All these characters that Ritchie uses depicts the different classes of people in London, the poor, the rich, the thieves and all other classes of people found in London. The movie displays a long list of the weirdest characters given the task of making decisions and especially bad decisions or e en the worst choices. However, London curves way for survival for only one group of people, the white, Anglo- Saxon, the protestants since Ritchie says that the knowledge on ethnicity is only limited to the white Anglo-Saxon protestants. The various characters can no longer continue to live in pretense. In order to adapt into the life in London, they have to stop pretending and live their lives freely. In order for the characters to survive in London, they have to act smart and violent. Boris gives the gun for placing a bet on behalf of Boris at the bookies of the Top of the Brick. On the other hand, Avi, taking the advantage that Boris who gambles a lot flies to London accompanied by his bodyguard to claim the diamond. At the same time, Boris still hires robbers, the two crooks to rob Franky at the bookies, which turn out unsuccessful. They end up caught up by the camera though they still succeed to kidnap Franky. This depicts the way the Franky is discriminated and he is quite helpless concerning the situation. However, Mickey also knocks out his opponent instead of throwing a fight. On the other hand, Brick Top, with a lot of anger, robs the savings of the Turkish provoking Mickey for another fight where he ends up losing the fight this time round. Eventually, the diamond is retrieved by Boris and executes Franky. Brick Top also arrives on time as the robbers were trying to dispose a Franky’s body and attempts to execute them for robbing his bookies and he they plead with him promising to give him the diamond within forty eight hours. However, Avi and Dough also hire Tony, the bullet tooth to help them find Franky. He ends up kidnapped when he took the trail that lead to Boris and the robbers retrieve the diamond. The robbers keep a very close watch and Tommy throws a cartoon packet of milk over the car window, which splashes over the windscreen of Tony hence he crushes. It is still surprising that the dog that Tommy got from the pikeys swallows the diamond, which causes a lot of commotion where Avi accidentally kills Tony and finally, decides to give up and return to the New York. These characters in the movie, Snatch, find a way to survive in London. They have to act and to do things they do in order to fit into the society. A character such as Franky and Tony find themselves innocently in tough situations, which lead to their killing. They have to get involved in such because it is a call for survival. These situations of survival as put across by Ritchie compares itself to the fate of the individuals. It also depicts that in order to survive in London; an individual has to posses some kind of wit. The wise survive while those who vulnerable end up losing their lives and being used by other individuals. Considering the character of Franky, he became very vulnerable that Boris used him to achieve his mission. Franky became very gullible when he accepted the deal of Boris of possessing a gun in return of signing on behalf of Boris in the bookies. In spite the wisdom and wit that Tony posses, that he fought back the robbers technically, end up dying accidentally. Therefore, this follows association with fate to some extent. The means of survival in London revolve mostly in only three areas, which include theft and robbery, pigs and murder. An individual has to get involved in one of the three things in order to survive. Sol, Avi, and Tyrone involve in robbery, where they kidnapped Franky and were looking forward to rob the diamond. According to Hrubes, Postmodernist Intertextuality in David Mitchell's Cloud Atlas, the robbery of the diamond also involves Boris where they executed Franky in the process. Avi could not withstand the practices that occurred in London and that became the reason behind her leaving London for New York. The police arrest Sol and Vinny after finding the murdered bodies of Franky and Tony in the car, this depicts the kind of murders that people suffered in London. These murders did not achieve the genuine reason. In other words, the people murdered did not deserve the murder. The bodies of other people mentioned in the play also were given to the pigs to celebrate and feast on. This also depicts the way life in London is very unfavorable to characters such as Avi. Gypsy played a major role since not many people understand the language he uses. He finds it easy to survive in London since he does not get the bother from people. Many people in London do not bother about him since they do not understand the language he speaks thus he survives safely in London. This movie generally depicts the way of life not only in London but also in other parts of the world. The several classes of people represented by the several characters in the movie simply depict the several classes of people that exist in the current society. The thieves exist in the society, robbers, people who murder others and others who throw other peoples’ carcasses to pigs, which show a lot, despise to people. People need to posses wit and wisdom for survival even in the current society. Those who can survive develop more than the people who become gullible and used by others. Such people must be present in order to attain a complete society. Therefore, people should become wiser in order not only to fit into the London society but also in any society.
