Development of a Model Aviation Safety Program for General Aviation Companies This proposal intends to emphasize upon the identification of significant aspects concerning the development of a model aviation safety program for general aviation companies. The quantitative approach of research methodology will be taken into concern for this project. Moreover, the primary sources, in the form of questionnaires will also be applied in this particular project. In addition, the proposal will focus upon several aspects in relation to the field of aeronautical science and the aviation industry. Thus, it can be stated that there lies a broader scope of the illustrated proposal as it intends to deal with the significant issues as well as concerns relating to aviation security. Proposal Model Aviation Safety Program for General Aviation Companies Statement of the Project The proposed project is principally concerned with the development of a Model Aviation Safety Program for General Aviation organizations. It has been viewed that a dramatic innovation process of change is currently taking place in the international aviation sector for the purpose of assisting the airspace to comply with future demands. In relation to aviation safety, the two utmost priority areas are the human factors and the technology factors. In relation to the human factors, the errors caused manually could eventually lead towards safety issues. In relation to the technological factors, when the technology fails to perform its functions, it also gives rise to a significant degree of safety issues. Thus, it can be stated that proper maintenance of the technology gadgets in an airplane and in the control room along with adequate training to the individuals related with the aviation industry is essential for exhibiting an advanced aviation safety program (Aviation Safety Corps, n.d.). Program Outcomes Addressed Critical Thinking The research as well as the development of the project will intend to provide a brief description of the importance or the need of developing various models or safety programs relating to aviation sector for the general aviation companies. Various theories, models as well as relevant concepts will be used in the project in order to meet with the project outcome. The project will address the concern towards the development of various programs relating to aviation safety for the general aviation companies. Moreover, the project will endeavor to reveal critical thinking, delivering comprehensive as well as realistic information with the purpose of helping in recognizing the crucial steps about developing aviation safety programs that are often signified as quite essential for the general aviation companies. By the implementation of the sources like case study illustrations as well as different regulations, the project will attain the goal of theoretical knowledge in relation to the development of aviation safety programs. Quantitative Reasoning In order to gain a better understanding of the currently applied safety measures in the general aviation companies, the modern day technologies as well as tactics, will be evaluated on the basis of their advantages and disadvantages concerning safety issues. For instance, one of the significant digitally-enabled technologies which are broadly used while implementing safety program in the aviation industry can be identified as ‘The Next Generation Air Transportation System’, which is popularly acknowledged as NextGen. This particular technology will be examined to support the general aviation companies by incessantly updating the valuable data of networking technology and sharing the collected information with the pilots as well as the controllers and the other individuals who are quite likely to have an impact on the safety measures already adopted. Furthermore, the project will also use the conception of ‘The Risk Analysis Tool’ (RAT) with due regard to the conception or rather the idea of this tool to act as a chief technique for computing current or future risks caused by any technology failure in the aviation industry. In addition, the project will implement charts, graphs as well as relevant statistical data in order to highlight the program process. Numerous data will be gathered as well as analyzed through the execution of various sources which will be accessible through websites, journals along with other articles. Information Literacy The use of primary sources will be suitable in order to gather valuable information relating to the project. The perception of primary sources usually delivers direct evidences or first-hand testimony which concerns a particular topic under the procedure of investigation. The aspect of primary sources is regarded as the original sources which are generated during the happening of the events. The various examples of primary sources include interviews, autobiographies, letters, e-mails, photographs, official records and questionnaires among others (Yale University, 2008). For this particular project, the relevant information will be gathered by conducting questionnaire surveys, taking into account the personnel from various general aviation companies. The results of the questionnaires will be expected to ultimately reveal the fact that there is a necessity to develop model aviation safety programs for the general aviation companies. Communication The project will cover the broader issue regarding the development of aviation safety programs for the general aviation companies. Various media will also be taken into account in order to satisfy the requirements of the project. The different sorts of media such as the software package of MS-Office will include the relevant statistical data, charts as well as graphs in relation to the development of model aviation safety programs for the general aviation companies. These measures in turn are likely to reveal the importance of developing models or programs relating to aviation safety which is quite important for the general aviation companies in the context of today’s modern as well as competitive world. Scientific Literacy This particular project will enable the analysis of various relevant scientific evidences as it connects to the physical world along with its interrelationship concerning human values and interests. The project will further intend to reveal the importance of developing aviation related safety programs for the general aviation companies by the execution of primary sources as well as scientific evidences based on aviation safety. Various agencies which are associated with aviation safety programs have been responsible for ensuring the factor of security across their individual regions by taking into concern the scientific evidences. The scientific evidences had observed a comprehensible requirement for developing aviation safety programs and an apparent need for its continuous improvements. The different scientific evidences revealed the fact that particularly the factor of human error is recognized as a prime contributor in causing inhibited safety measures within the aviation industry. In relation to the flight operations, mitigating the influence of human error has currently become a crucial concern which ultimately necessitates the development of aviation safety programs by a considerable level accompanied by effective training facilities. The scientific evidences have also exhibited the fact that by applying the current as well as effectual technological knowledge between the commercial airplanes and human performances, aviation safety can be improved by a large extent (The Boeing Company, n.d.). Cultural Literacy The conception of cultural literacy is strongly believed to play an imperative role in the global aviation industry. It is considered to be a basic knowledge concerning the societal interactions in which every individual usually performs a few undocumented rules and regulations in their daily life. The aviation industry is directly related with the feature of cultural literacy due to the reason that the pilots belonging to different communities develops dissimilar perceptions which might possess a significant impact upon the aviation safety programs. The facet of cultural literacy imposes significant impact upon developing aviation safety programs by affecting into the behavioral attitudes of the individuals associated with the various facets of aviation services (Hutchins, Holder & Perez, 2002). To be illustrated, the frequent occurrences of airplane crashes in Korean Airline industry; identified between the period of 1970 and 2000 reveals the effect of culture in aviation safety programs. Most of these accidental occurrences were enquired to be a result of cultural conflicts which in turn indicates the significance of cultural issues in developing aviation safety programs (Ghemawat & Reiche, 2011). Life Long Personal Growth The project will intend to acquire a superior understanding about the importance of developing model aviation safety programs for general aviation organizations in relation to the subject matter of aeronautical science. The questionnaires, as a primary source of data collection, will also contribute in gathering valuable information regarding the safety programs simultaneously enhancing the experiences of the personnel belonging to different aviation companies. In addition, the development of the model aviation safety programs will also enable to determine the execution of digitally-enabled technologies in order to interpret relevant data for the target of solving associated problems and also for drawing valid conclusions relating to aviation safety. Aeronautical Science The perception of aeronautical science is principally described as the field of study which deals with the broad category of airway services. It is also defined as a science which is involved with aircraft or flight operations. The aspect of aeronautical science is viewed to be a procedure of making effective flying machines and airplanes or flight designs along with the technology gadgets which are quite essential in programming the entire process in an effective and customer friendly manner. In order to design the flights or airplanes, the aeronautical engineers should pay utmost attention towards certain major elements such as air flow. For instance, the engineers associated with designing the flights should study about the flow of air throughout the aircraft which in turn can assist in identifying the shape of the planes in order to identify the required technological safety measures towards controlling the flight operations in terms of speed, emergency control and probable chances of mechanical malfunctioning (NASA, n.d.). Aviation Legislation and Law The conception of aviation law is described as the field of law which encompasses the aspect of air travel, flight operations and related business concerns. The notion of aviation law is duly regarded as a state-level or a federal concern in most of the nations. The commercial aspects relating to the airlines are also subjected under the categorization of aviation law. In this context, the ‘Convention of International Civil Aviation’ is known to be a modern form of aviation legislation in relation to aviation industry. This particular Convention outlines the systems as well as the structures for the purpose of standardizing and regulating the aspect of international regulation (Padpilot Ltd., n.d.). Aviation Safety The issues related with aviation safety have often been signified as quite important for general aviation companies. It has been learnt in the recent context that in order to increase as well as to develop the efficiency of aviation safety measures, organizations have become much more inclined towards implementing ‘Safety Management System’ (SMS) and similar other programs. The SMS system, in this regard, has been examined to provide an effective structure in order to control various risky operations relating to aviation industry services. Besides, the system intends to minimize the adverse effects upon the financial, human, property, societal and most significantly environmental losses. It is also regarded as a comprehensive approach which assists the general aviation companies by identifying as well as controlling the various risks concerning its security measures (US Forest Service, 2011). Aviation Management and Operations The different areas of aviation management and operations include assessing the measures adapted with concern to aviation safety and making effective planning as well as evaluation of aviation related operational functions. The aviation programs are successfully developed with the implementation of high planning level, delivering resourceful training and preserving superior operational standards. The management procedure of the general aviation organizations are mainly designed in order to suffice the requirements of today’s frequently altering needs in the aviation industry (US Forest Service, 2011).
