Baseball statistics Baseball statistics Introduction Baseball is amongst the most popular games in the United s and is known to attract huge interest amongst upcoming sports personality. Many have had successfully baseball careers and just like any other sports, others have had rather unsuccessful careers. This paper is based on player game-play statistics in 1990. The data availed are vast and cover a range of variables. However, this study does not cover all these variables. It instead looks at the effect of the number of bats on player scores over the period, effect of the number of games on the number of the scores by a player during a season. Data manipulation The data provided in the study are manipulated before being analyzed with the help of Excel’s analysis toolpak. The totals for each player across the entire season are generated and used as the basis of study. In this context, the researcher seeks to create operational data for analysis of the described possible relationship.
