The American economy from 1950 to late nineties used to enjoy an array of benefits Which add value to their normal wages. Companies used to pay a lot of amount to extra amenities which were used to continue even after their retirement has been done. The companies were forced to cut their jobs to inhibit their earning into their company Profitability. The downsizing is intentional decision taken by the company. Downsizing gives scope for the company to minimize the human resource costing and the amount which has been gained by this effort is used for the expansion or for the improvement of the company operational investment.
Thus the downsizing improves the standard of the work process. The downsizing can for done internally, externally and by out sourcing. The downsizing as mentioned before is a process of reorganizing and redesigning the work process to tune with the current socio economic conditions. So, the employee with the changing current scenario has to mould himself to tune with the evolutions and current demands and make the employer to think twice before he takes a decision to remove from the workforce.
To gain the employer confidence the employee should equip with the fallowing essential qualities to survive in the ever growing competitive environment. What mix of skills do we need today to capture the employer faith? What skills are we likely to need in the future to stay in the company? How will the organizational changes influence our employability? What if the company suddenly fires the employees? Not to confine to one specific work system, exhibiting multiple skills. What are the other career sources available in case of if were out of the Organization Whether the company has any reemployment opportunities in the same organization or in other business entities Does the company have any reorientation programs done for the employees Does the organization play a proactive role in the employee welfare How do employees support a quality standard of livingThe change in time has many demands along with it .
so the people were forced to adapt to the current scenario. The employees should adapt to the current and future demands with updating their working skills sets and equipping themselves to the coming demand The adoption by the employee will force the employer to change his thought of eliminating your presence from the organization. An individual should explore several alternatives to locate the best and should build his livelihood within the organization.Rather working in a place where there is a crowd competing for the same greater levelPlace yourself in a location where your skills are seen very quickly and recognized and relocate at a place where your living expenses does not hinder your career options at any point of time in tenure.
Competition for jobs from human resources outside the United StatesMany companies are relocating their business services to the Asian countries like India due to change in global scenario which drove them to the new pastures where the cost of labor is many times cheaper than America. The number of skilled labor are increasing at a rapid pace and India in particular has more than 51% in the age group which makes these regions more lucrative. Edge in technology has made America as a most sophisticated company and placed at high profile in working standard .
