Most of the people spoke English but Eddie and I spoke Spanish as well which also helped us. We also have organized the delivery of gifts for orphan children. There was so much of gratitude on their faces when they saw their names on the boxes with gifts! They expressed their feelings in Spanish. But the language barrier didn't prevent our dialogs, although sometimes Lucas and Jordy looked so confused that Eddie and I had to give them some useful lessons! Seeing the children react to the gifts, we were confirmed in our God who takes care of everybody on the Earth!
There were a lot of people who came to thank us for a very long time. On the way to a village near Belmopan, our bus has been broken. It is hard to call us mechanics, especially me and Eddie, but we all took an active part in repair the bus. We thank God for our troubles and our determination in overcoming them! Having arrived in the village, we saw a horrible situation. The people needed a lot of problems to be resolved, and we were full of determination to help them as much as we could. Some children in the village were cough flu, and there were almost no medicines there.
We expected such situation, so we took all the necessary medicines for helping poor villagers. We saw those people, we visited their homes. Our mission was aware of the numerous problems facing the village, so we tried to help to resolve just a small part of them. We brought food with us to help people who are starving. It impressed the people so much, especially children, that some of us were touched to tears! We also helped to construct houses of clay and reed. Small children also helped us - it was very touching!
We all prayed them; we wanted God to take those people shelter, food, water and health for their children. Sometime later we came to one of the orphan houses not far from Belmopan. The children met us very gladly as it was not the first our visit there. We brought candies with us. Lucas and Jordy helped us to give it out. They didn't speak Spanish, so it was very funny sometimes to watch their dialogues with the children! We also brought picturesque books dedicated to the Holy Bible and Gospel.
I read stories of Christ aloud, Eddie explained the pictures. There were so many different questions from children that sometimes we were not in time answering them! Bible stories and beautiful pictures liked them very much; they all were very attentive and cheerful. Our mission also visited hospitals in Belmopan, as well as in other towns in Belize. We brought new surgery equipment which could help numerous patients. Eddie and I talked with them about the Holy Bible and Christ - the people prayed, and they felt better.
Jesus Christ loves and takes care of everybody who prays and believes in God! We also contacted with other volunteer organizations in Belize, such as Belize Audubon Society, Belize Zoo and Tropical Education Center and Birds without Borders. We have been in many Belizean schools. Our members told children about nature of Belize and other countries, showed pictures. The children listened with great interest; now they know many surprising facts about animals, fishes, birds, and plants.
