This ability of a person to deal with mental stress is closely related with the field of clinical psychology that mainly deals with a wide range of psychiatric issues and abnormal behaviors. In this paper, the researcher will use qualitative approach to determine the effects of psychological treatments on people in stress. The researcher will personally visit therapists and psychiatrists to determine the way they deal with the conditions of stress and mental illness in patients. The researcher will also visit patients to determine the effects of those treatments on their personal and professional lives.
The researcher has selected qualitative design to conduct this research. This design helps in situations when one needs to conduct exploratory research to get detailed information about the issue. This type of research will help the research get an insight into real issues that mentally ill people face before going for a psychological treatment. This research will also help the researcher use subjective information to examine complex issues, as well as to deal with value-laden research questions in an effective manner.
The quantitative design for research would generalize the results in form of numbers and figures which would not help the researcher in this particular study. The researcher will use snowball-sampling technique because it will help in contacting a large number of people who would have received some form of clinical psychology treatment at least once in life. This approach will help the research find the target population easily. The target population in this research will be the patients who would have undergone some form of clinical psychology treatment at least once in life.
The researcher will use clinical records and snowball-sampling technique to find the target population. The researcher will collect data through interviews and on-field observations which will be stored in the personal computer system of the researcher. Observations
