Research studies do not act as exact reading materials for an average individual, results derived from psychological experiments studies and experiments can have vital applications in our daily lives. If you thought psychology was only for therapists, academics, and students, then you ought to think again.

In this paper, I will identify one experience, which I will then describe and give two areas of cognitive psychology and neuroscience relating to the situation.

The experience that this paper will dwell on is getting motivation. Whether a person targets to lose weight, quit smoking, or learn a new language, several lessons provided by psychology offer numerous tips for getting motivation. Documented evidence set forth that, to boost your level of motivation when approaching a particular task, some of the following tips derived from research and studies in educational and cognitive psychology will prove proficient (47). To begin with, while acquiring morale or motivation in approaching a certain objective, educational psychology introduces novel or new elements that keep your interest held high. Chipping in a new element of maintaining high levels of interest in the respective task makes an individual continue trying to keep up with the moods depicted by the task.

Additionally, in the situation of getting motivated, the use of cognitive research in psychology helps vary the sequence. In return, helps in staving off the boredom that may come along with this particular task. With psychological knowledge, an individual can stave off boredom by varying the sequence involved in getting motivation thus making the overall experience more interesting which in turn makes the individual keep moving forward towards achieving the set goal (59). In getting motivation, psychology makes it possible for an individual to learn new activities that help build the existing knowledge. Enlarging the current knowledge provides room for absorbing new things from the surrounding environment of learning. Psychology guides a person while setting goals that relate directly to the respective task. Dwelling within the record makes it possible to keep track of your own experience. After achieving your task of getting motivated, psychology provides a basis in which an individual can reward him or herself for a job well done (65).

In conclusion, the relationship between the two areas of cognitive psychology and neuroscience develops and verifies results gained from the described experience. A clear outlook into this spectrum sets out that, in psychology, it becomes problematic when it turns out that examining mental phenomena takes place in isolation. Therefore, in getting motivation, cognitive psychology determines or governs experiences that concern attention since attention interacts with multiple mental phenomenons that stimulate behavioral influences. In cognitive neuroscience, an individual can get motivation by focusing on invasive components of functional neuroscience such as positron emission tomography and diffusion tensor imaging which provides a broad spectrum of basic scientific understanding of diverse matters regarding behavior, brain, and cognition (77).
