due: Fashion and Anesthetics Fashion can be described as a trend that is popular especially in the dress styles, behavioral manners, the use of ornaments, footwear body piercings, furniture, and use of makeup. Fashion is a trend that is often habitual and distinctive. It is a behavioral style that is prevailing. The fashion aspects can be masculine or feminine (Warhol 65). Aesthetics can be described as principles that are set of principles that are concerned with beauty appreciation and nature. It also deals with the artistic taste. Fashion ensures that people get to lead confident lives since the kinds of clothes that they wear make them feel better thus raising their self esteem. The fashion revolution On the twenty fourth of April in the year 2013, one thousand one hundred and thirty three people lost their lives and over two thousand five hundred people got injured when there was a collapse at the Rana Plaza Factory Plaza in Dhaka. However, the environmental and social catastrophes of the supply chain of fashion still continue. Therefore, the Fashion Revolution Day is on the fourth of April. Many people in sixty countries all over the world participated in the first revolution day which was on the fourth of April this year. People wore their clothes inside out, and they were asking of the person that made the clothes. That shows that people are embracing the fashion trends that are in the society today. That is because there are very many fashion trends, and people have come to embrace all of them. The day is used to celebrate fashion, and it also helps people to learn of the various trends in fashion that are there in the society. The day has not been recognized as an international fashion Day though efforts are being made to make it formal. Do clothes matter? I tend to believe that clothes really matter. Clothes contribute a lot in changing the perception that people have regarding a certain person. They give a clue on how much money one makes and they also help in showing the style that a certain person has. Clothes also matter a lot depending on the occasions. That is because every occasion calls for the kinds of clothes to wear. For example, it is wrong to go in the office dressed casually or wearing as if one is going for a party. Clothes should be chosen wisely in order to ensure that they fit with the occasion that is there. Clothes also help in showing the kind of person that one is thus they should be chosen in the right way. Initially, clothes were made with the aim of keeping people warm and also protecting them from the sun’s heat. However, status has also come in, and people tend to dress according to their status. Every time a person walks in the streets, they keep on wondering what other people think of their way of dressing. That is because every person tries to wear to their best thus they always want to ensure that their way of dressing is pleasing to other people. Clothes can be described as a language that is used to judge others. They also help people to express what they feel and also show the status in which they belong. One can be able to learn a person simply by the clothes that they wear. That is because clothes talk a lot about the character of a person. Clothes also help in giving people a sense of belonging. Is the character of a person expressed by their clothes? I tend to believe that the clothes one wears contribute a lot in expressing the character that they have. Wearing clothes helps in expressing something about someone. That is the reason why there exists so many stores that sell clothes and that is also the reason why people get to use a lot of money in buying those clothes. People like choosing the clothes that they wear and that helps a lot in expressing themselves through those clothes. The clothes that people wear talk a lot about them. Many people tend to argue that the behavior of a person contributes a lot in characterizing a person. However, that is not true since people are more characterized by the clothes that they wear. People also get to associate with people depending on the type of clothes that other people are wearing. That is because it is very hard for someone to associate with a person that is poorly dressed. Dressing well helps in showing the importance of a person, and, as a result, many people choose to associate with people that know how to dress appropriately. The way people dress has a great effect on how people view and categorize them in the society. Whether one is working, at school, at the mall or any other place people get judged by the kind of clothes that they wear. Clothes play a great role in displaying the kind of lives that people get to live. The way of dressing also helps in showing whether a person gets to respect the occasions that are there. That is because each occasion has its own kind of dressing. Respecting the occasion helps a lot since it shows the character of a person. Do people dress fashionably in order to look like others? People do not dress fashionably in order to look like other people. That is because people tend to wear clothes that make them feel happy and clothes that look good in them. Wearing fashionable clothes is all about wearing the clothes that are good looking in a person. A certain type of fashion can look good on a certain person but still look bad in another person. Therefore, it is evident that people get to wear clothes just because they look good on them but not because other people are wearing them. In the current generation, people tend to wear fashionable clothes as compared to the ordinary clothes. Wearing fashionable clothes help in capturing the attention of the public and they also make people feel to be superior in a way. However, in most cases people wear shirts that are written yet they do not know the meanings of those writings. That is very wrong since those writings could be having a hidden meaning yet those wearing them believe that the writings are fashionable. Judging what people wear is in the human nature of people. Therefore, people tend to wear fashionable clothes since they believe that fashionable clothes will make them look better as compared to other people thus they will not be wrongly judged by others (Mears 66). True fashion is not all about copying what other people are wearing. However, it is all about looking for the clothes that look best on a person and also what makes one feel good. Therefore, every person should look for a style that they like and can be impressing to wear. Relationship between fashion and the consumer There is a great relationship between fashion and the consumers. That is because consumers always go for the fashionable objects that make them happy. That shows that there exists a complex relationship because the consumers do not go for objects that do not make them happy. In most cases, consumers buy the types of fashions that make them happy and it is very odd for someone to buy clothes that do not make them happy. Therefore, it is evident that people always have a relationship with the objects that they have. People also get attached to some of the clothes that make them happy in a situation where the clothes look good in them. However, in a situation where the clothes do not make the consumers happy, they do not have an attachment to the clothes. Wearing fashionable clothes also gives the consumers a sense of confidence since they tend to believe that they look good. However, when one is poorly dressed they do not have confidence and that can also contribute in lowering their self esteem especially in a situation where other make comments regarding their way of dressing. The consumers also ensure that they are able to choose the best clothes for them in order to ensure that they always look good. It is also evident that there is a relationship between the consumers and the object since people still buy new clothes despite the fact that they have enough clothes already. That helps in showing that people still have the urge to buy new clothes despite the fact that they have clothes that they have enough clothes already. The link between emotional states and clothing choices Dressing up often takes an extra effort but it also makes one fell good especially in a situation where one receives compliments from people. Many women confess that dressing up often makes them feel good. Recent research shows that depressed women often wear tops that are baggy, sweatshirts, and jeans. On the other hand, happy women tend to wear jewelry, jeans, and fancy dresses. The choice of clothing helps a lot in showing how women who feel down make fewer efforts in the type of clothes that they wear. It also helps in showing how women who are in good moods tend to dress up in a nice way in order to match their efforts with the aim of matching their good mood with their nice way of dressing. Many women confess that most of their shopping is about clothes and jewelry (Breward 88). That is because the clothes make them feel confident and they also help in raising their self esteem. Wearing certain clothes often affect the emotional states of people. It is also very easy to determine the mood that one is by simply looking at the clothes that one wears. Some people tend to believe that fashion is not decent and those people that wear fashionably do not wear appropriately. On the other hand, others tend to believe that overdressing is out of fashion and only those people that are not civilized should be overdressed. Others also tend to argue that wearing fashionably is not ethical since people tend to wear tight clothes that expose parts of their body parts. However, others tend to believe that it is ethical as long as one is happy about their look. Relationship between clothes and self perception Clothes have a great relationship with self perception. That is because the kind of clothes that a person wears contribute a lot in how they take themselves. People who have a lot of confidence always wear clothes that make them happy and they use all kinds of ornaments and makeup with the aim of looking good without having to worry what others will talk about them. however, people who have a very low self esteem often wear clothes just for the sake of it and they do not care about their looks since they do not wear clothes with the aim of looking good. Many people also tend to love their jobs due to the type of clothing that is associated with it. Most doctors find it happy staying with the doctors coat just because the coat helps a lot in earning them respect in the society. However, some painters do not enjoy being with the painters coat just because they do not like the kind of job that is associated with that job and many people tend to look down on them due to the kind of clothing that they have. Being well dressed is very important since it helps people to appreciate themselves and also be happy. Works Cited Breward, Christopher. Fashion. Oxford: Oxford UP, 2003. Print.
