Menstrual Problem Menstrual Problem The paper pertain a case of a female patient who is having menstrual problem. Herein, the paper will recognize the treatment that should be given to her by a nurse by applying pathophysiologic concepts.a. In this case, the client mentioned that she is having problem during her periods, and she noticed heavy bleeding during periods that are painful as well. Moreover, it lasts for longer duration than normal. After using pathophysiologic concepts, the nurse should get the idea from symptoms that the client has fibroids disease.
Furthermore, the history of client’s family also state that this problem is in her family as well. Therefore, at first step, the nurse should give some medicines to the clients that will be effective as a painkiller. As the client mentioned that she was already using naproxen for the pain, so, the nurse should recommend her to continue it with some other medicines recommended (Porth, 2011).b. If the client asks about treatment, in which ovaries are being removed from female bodies to avoid conversion of fibroids into tumor or cancer which is called as a hysterectomy.
The response of the nurse should be in negative because it is better to control the disease with the help of medicines rather than going for any surgery. If it is needed then after discussing the case with other nurses and doctors, the treatment or surgery will be recommended. Otherwise, the first step should be use of medicine to control the disease (Porth, 2011).ReferencePorth, C. (2011). Essentials of Pathophysiology: Concepts of Altered Health States.
