TEAM ETHICS BROCHURE It is important to that participants and for that matter respondents of research works take part in the study not because of any personal or professional benefits that they get from being but (American Psychiatric Association, 1994). They are only included as aides for the researcher and so need to be protected in terms of privacy and confidentiality (Beirness and Simpson, 2002). Consideration for participant recruitment and at-risk populations are also discussed in the following guidelines Privacy and confidentialityParticipants shall not be obliged to provide their names or initials that could lead to their identificationParticipants shall not be asked to produce any such personal data that exposes their identity in relation to their places of work.

All data collected by the researcher shall be kept at a safe keeping where it shall not get into the hands of any third parties.Considerations for participant recruitment and informed consent Participants shall not be forced to be part of the sample size.Official permission shall be sought in the form of writing from any organizations used as a setting for data collection.Participants shall be made aware of all terms and conditions for their inclusion and shall have to agree to these before they are made part of the sample size.

Any form of recruitment or sampling procedure that does not guarantee fairness and eliminates bias in the selection process shall not be used (Austin et al, 1999)Special Considerations for At-Risk populationsIt shall be the responsibility of the researcher to approach the at-risk population personally so as to create a better need for understanding their situation and providing suitable conditions and provisions that meet the needs of these at-risk populations.In terms of intervention, a preventive intervention that aims at reducing the risk faced by the population shall be used (Diaz et al, 1997).
