Already, the company has come out with some suggestions for the future that best seem workable in turning the fortunes of the company around. This solution has to do with the initiation of an information system that will put customers at the forefront of the growth of the company. Specifically, it has been suggested that the company goes into electronic billing and payment system and this is a step in the right direction. The advocacy will however continue that the company puts in place structures and systems that will ensure that the implementation stage of the information system does not fall below the expected achievement. Such underachievement comes when the wrong personnel is employed to overtake the affairs of the system or the budget is generally cut, making the whole process very shoddy.

Much of MDCM’s solution, therefore, lies in creating a centralized information system that brings all components of information technology into the company under one roof and under a single manager or supervisor. It is for this reason that it can be said that MDCM falls in the quadrant of information systems solutions. This information system solution can be very varying and widespread including among other things, customer relationship management using new media, billing and payment system using online payment methods and the ordering of products through the electronic system. Luckily, the information system solutions can best be used in the manufacturing sector of the company. It has already been noted that MDCM plays a keen role as far as the production of medical products is concerned and so the company is going to yield the full benefit of the information systems solution. This section will be concluded on the note again that sight must not be lost of the need to put the right personnel and budget in place in getting the information systems solutions underway.

Overall strategic goals of MDCM
As far as information technology is concerned, it can be said that MDCM does not have any well-defined strategic goal for the company. However, the company has an overall strategic goal that targets the growth and development of the company. For example, there is a major strategy of relying on outsourcing for the supply of all its products.

The reason why this outsourcing is considered a strategy is that it comes with its own advantages and of course some disadvantages. On the advantages, it can be said that once outsourcing is used, it gives the customers of the company an opportunity to have a feel and taste of products that exist even outside the company. This means that customers can always be assured of variety such that they will not always have to depend on other competitors for a certain line of brands or products that are produced by MDCM. This way, MDCM will be in a better position to better compete in their rivalry environment.

There is another strategic goal of reducing the number of suppliers drastically. It may sound ironic to presume that the company wants to reduce suppliers but still works on the strategy of outsourcing. But the combination of these two is not far from reality. As the company continues to depend on external sources of suppliers, it is not out of order to think of reducing the quantum of suppliers. This is because when the suppliers continue to become so many, the actual benefits of relying on outsourcing will be defeated. For instance, instead of enjoying the advantage of experiencing variety with products supplied, the company will not be having problems, trying to monitor and evaluate the activities and performance of the suppliers such that some unscrupulous ones would want to take advantage of the absence of monitoring and evaluation to flock the company with unwholesome and sub-standard products. All said and done it can be said that MDCM should try and translate the outsourcing strategy into coming up with an information systems management.
