It can be said that the literature review forms a very important part of the entire dissertation or a research-based assignment (Williams and Wragg, 2003, p. 12). While handling a dissertation, the student researcher needs to understand the reason as well as the relevant importance of conducting a literature review. It needs to be mentioned on these lines that the literature review is done as a part of the research. It can be said that the research is conducted by the organization, corporate institutions, associations, pressure groups, and even individuals and unions.

The information that is required and relevant for the research is conducted and generated from critical evaluations of previously handled assignments of fellow researchers as well as past research work (Hart, 1998, p. 4). On the theoretical lines, the literature review is defined as the process of conducting a systematic evaluation of knowledge for a particular and focused topic. However, it needs to be mentioned that in the case of a literature review of academic nature, the focus is more on the lines of conducting research of appropriate peer-reviewed articles (Dawidowicz, 2010, p. 2). In broader terms, it can be said that the literature review is a kind of critical evaluation of various kinds of scholarly information as well as research kind of information based on a specific topic.

For proper handling of the literature review, the researcher should focus on the process of discussing the main aims and objectives of the research dissertation. Talking on these lines, it can be said that the prime focus of the research is to identify strategic moves that can be implemented by Toyota for the purpose of developing a successful global marketing strategy. As a way of attending to this particular goal, the literature review of this dissertation should start with describing the various concepts related to global marketing.

The literature review then should move on to talk about the company in a brief format while also describing the various unique features and concepts that exist in the organization. Another part of the literature review will comprise of risk factors faced by the organization as well as the overview of the global auto market are also being taken into consideration. The final part will focus on comparing the organization’s strategy and tactics with that of the rival organizations. The easy availability of market-related information has encouraged companies located in different corners of the world to tap into the markets that hold strong promise for future growth.
