? GOOGLE INC. here] of [Due paper] Answer No. 3 This ment seems to be true because Google is making use of all those essentials that a company requires to be on the top position in the field of search engine for a long time. For example, Google search engine is very efficient, fast, and makes use of latest information technology resources to provide top class services to users. “Google’s competitive edge is traced to the fact that they’ve built their own infrastructure of servers, storage systems, bandwidth and hardware that supports the fastest search on the web” (Smart Advantage 2010, p. 1). The efficiency and relevant retrieval of web pages are those features of Google search engine that make Google Inc. an attractive and top slot choice for every internet user. Google focuses more on consumer benefits as compared to other search engines, such as, MSN, Yahoo, or Bing. Users do not feel any problem in searching anything using Google search engine. They just type key words on the search engine bar and the search engine provides the most relevant web pages using the rank-ordering system. Using Google search engine, users can find out a number of relevant sources that they can use in writing their dissertations and projects. “The biggest advantage of the Google search engine is perhaps the sheer number of sites it indexes” (Dougherty 2010, p. 1). The company started from nearly 2 million websites in its database in 1998 which grew up to a trillion websites just after twelve years showing the speed of the growth of this search engine. No other search engine has shown such a rapid increase in its website database as yet which is one of the many signs for Google to remain the market leader at least for the next decade. Another noticeable point is that the interface of the Google search engine is very user-friendly. Users can find their required web pages using customized setting. For example, if a user wants to fin some book, he/she can search that book using ‘Google Books’ search. Similarly, if a user wants to find a scholarly journal, he/she can search it using ‘Google Scholar’ search. Google also makes use of rating mechanism which helps in retrieving the most relevant websites. Other search engines can hardly differentiate between the relevant and irrelevant web pages because of which they generate all those websites in which the key words exist regardless of their relevance. On the other hand, Google makes use of rank-ordering system which puts the most relevant websites at the top positions. Google does not rank pages on the basis amount of information that they contain about any particular topic, rather it ranks pages based on the amount of relevant data or information. This feature also distinguishes Google from other search engines and points towards Google’s dominance in internet search over the next decade. Answer No. 4 Google’s attempts to launch new products have been remarkable and successful so far. Whatever products Google has launched until now have played a considerable role in increasing the yearly revenue and net income of the company. The thing is that there is always a well-planned strategy behind the launch of every Google product which ensures long-term success of the product in local and international markets. The company makes use of latest and well-equipped information technology infrastructure to create new products. Some of the main products which have proven to be highly productive for the company include Google search tools, language tools, advertising services, publishing tools, communication tools, and Google statistical tools. These are just the broad categories of Google products. The actual product line includes a wide range of products under each category. Google has also entered the world of web browsers, email, and mobile internet. From the usage rates of all of these products, it is evident that the company has been successful so far in each of these fields. For example, nearly 100 million people use Google email as a way to send messages to each other. Similarly, the usage rate of Google chrome is also reaching its heights because of its efficiency and enhanced functionality. Google delivers the top search engine of the world, the world’s best advertising platform, and the most admired mobile operating system (Reisinger 2010). The company is planning to come up with the most efficient and privacy ensured data center which will provide a wide range of cloud computing services to the clients. Looking at the success of Google’s new products, it is evident that the company will keep on dominating the world of information technology for a very long time.
