It implies that the human resource body ought to work in coordinateness and efficiently in order for an organization to realize its set goals. All the processes that involve hiring, orientation, and retention of employees in the firm should carry out competently with integrity to get the right labor force that would deliver the expected tasks effectively. Wal-Mart Stores Company is one of the modern-day corporations that have many employees who are hired to do different tasks (Paruchuri, Baum & Potere, 2009). It is an American multinational corporation that runs thousands of retail chains of large discount stores and warehouses. The company commenced doing business in the mid-twentieth century hence, has been in business for about fifty years.

Wal-Mart Company has its headquarters in Bentonville, Arkansas in the US. As per now, this corporation operates over 11,000 stores in 27 nations with over 2.2 million employees. Reports reveal that Wal-Mart Inc is the largest public retailer company in the world and the biggest private employer across the globe (Goetz & Swaminathan, 2006). As of 2012, its revenue was estimated to be $466.9 billion while the profit from this was $15.6 billion. The largeness of this firm is attributed to the rapid expansion and opening of new stores in new markets. This factor has propelled it to the top within a few decades compared to other companies that have been in operation for longer periods (Goetz & Swaminathan, 2006). The human resource as discussed earlier indeed is so enormous. Managing over 2.2 million people to work in the same direction is very challenging.

However, Wal-Mart has succeeded and still doing well and competing effectively in this industry of retail merchandising. This report would discuss how Wal-Mart affords to manage this large population of workers to work effectively and deliver the results as seen (Paruchuri, Baum & Potere, 2009). The report would much focus on the process of hiring, recruiting, and management of employees. Some of the functions that would be discussed under this process would be job description analysis, recruitment strategy, selection, the legal framework, orientation, and retention of workers within Wal-Mart stores.
