1.0 Introduction
The professional placement has become an essential part of learning experience where opportunities for learning are provided to students during a field practicum under supervision. Professional placements are particularly significant due to their capacity to enable students to translate class theory into practical aspects of work. This report seeks to draw attention to professional practice at King Fahad Hospital. Emphasis is given to the Health Information Management Services (HIMS) Department. The objectives of the placement are also explored and analyzed accordingly.
2.1King Fahad Hospital
The King Fahad Hospital Al Baha is situated in Al Baha City (BC), Saudi Arabia. The hospital opened its doors to the public in2005 after the Saudi government devoted it to public use that year. Later in 2008, the hospital achieved a high point in the healthcare sector when it began functioning as a referral hospital and immediately started serving specialized clinical care in the areas of genetics, cardiac treatment, Neurosciences, and Organ Transplant. The number of specialized services has increased gradually over the years. Today, the hospital offers urology, nuclear medicine, emergency medicine, and hematology. Overall, the hospital offers tertiary specialty health care services. Predominantly, it serves the people of the Eastern parts of Saudi Arabia. Secondary care hospitals usually initiate a patient referrals. Again, the hospital has been recognized by the Saudi Council for Health Specialties (SCFHS) to be at the heart of specialized training in a range of healthcare programs.
2.2. The Department of Health Information Management Services (HIMS)
The HIMS department at King Fahad Hospital assists in the maintenance, collection, and management of health records. Through the department, the healthcare professionals at the hospital are delivered with timely and accurate health data. In response, the health professional applies the information in the delivery of quality health care. The services offered include:
Patient admission and discharge
The healthcare services at the health information department depend on the ward clerks. Clerks are assigned to the inpatient and outpatient clinics to provide the clinics with pertinent information needs.

The medical transcription ensures accessible, precise, and timely patient health records. The records clerk input details into patient records, such as summaries of discharge reports or medical referrals.
Health Information System
Each patient is provided with a health-specific health record. The beds are also appropriately allocated to patients.
Medical Records Department
This unit is concerned with activities, such as developing and filing the medical records and preparing health records for their designated departments of clinics. The additional services provided also include filing loose reports.

3.0 King Fahad Hospital Organization Chart
The organization chart describes the nature and hierarchy of employee involvement in decision-making across the organization. It also assists in grouping the employees based on their roles to ensure their proper and efficient functioning(Ben‐Ner& Lluis, 2011). King Fahad’s organization chart is indicated in Chart 1.
