Vonnegut’s "Slaughter house" analysis However, the new beginning was not handled properly leading to serious challenge in the lives of the veterans. As depicted by the story of Billy Pilgrim, war affected the reasoning of the army personnel while also causing stigma and fear to the society due to unexplained behavior of the war veterans. The argument of Vonnegut is supported by the experience in America in relation to the war veterans. In fact, the experiences narrated by the soldiers of war are similar to the explanation given to the story of Billy.
The story of Billy pilgrim highlights the plight of the soldiers and the effect of trauma in the lives of the people. The disconnect between husband and wife as depicted in the story of Billy Pilgrim and his wife Valencia indicates the difficulty associated with the treatment of trauma. However, the story can be understood through critical evaluation of the behavior of Billy Pilgrim (Vees-Gulani 175). In fact, the behavior illustrates the challenge faced by war veterans. The failure to integrate into the society after the end of war is a product of the continual exposure to war and lack of adequate planning for the whole process.
Consequently, the government failure to develop a re-integration process is revealed in the life of Billy and also the experience of the retired American war veterans. The challenge of war is not the war itself, but the life after the war. The role of the department is to help the soldiers returning from war to fit back into the society by becoming useful and by offering support services to other soldiers in the country.

However, the reality is that Billy does not have a secret but a challenge of integrating into the new environment of marriage and civilian society. In line with the challenge of war veteran, the economic earnings and health of the soldiers may be a contributing factor in the development of isolation and segregation in the community.
The Slaughter house five is a book considering and evaluating the impact of war on the soldiers and their challenges in re-integration (Vees-Gulani). In the story, the life of Billy is a proof of the challenge faced by soldiers returning from war. It depicts the challenges that may not be visible as illustrated in the story. The behavior and emotional state of Billy are presented metaphorically.
Statements such as “being spastic in time” indicates that Billy re-experiences the trauma underwent at the war front (Vees-Gulani 175). The diagnosis of the challenge faced by Billy is done by psychologists and analysts focus on the reasons for the behavior. The argument presented by Vees-Gulani, Susanne indicates the main issue of diagnosis. The psychiatric approach in the analysis of the book indicates the existence of challenges that are intrinsic and need the members of the society to
