He should know what is newsworthy and possesses news value. Understanding the pulse fo the readers and analyzing the readability of news published in accordance with the audiences' perceptions is another requisite.

The Print Media Editor must be open to change and must also maintain contacts with the 'who's who' of various industries and sectors. In other words, the job of the Print Media Editor is one that carries a lot of responsibilities with it. It determines the quality of the newspaper and the credibility of the content published. Blameable content published is the responsibility of the Editor, solely and hence, he must be extremely cautious about what is published.
