Extract of sample "The Activities Used in HIV Intervention"

The targeted audiences are infected people, who are taught how to avoid transmitting the disease, and uninfected people who are taught not to discriminate against the infected. Other audiences include teenagers, who are taught about the benefits of abstinence and safe sex methods, the youth, who are taught the methods of transmission and the prevalence of HIV in the population and educational centers, health care centers, the public, and other parties interested in HIV education and prevention. The activities used in HIV intervention include using school and educational center tours to campaign to the youth and teens and Internet transmissions, radio and print media advertisements, or handouts, which pass the messages to the population. Other activities include the use of infected and affected people to talk to the public about HIV and how to avoid infection and the use of qualified medical personnel to talk about transmission methods and prevention. This can also be done by inviting dietitians to inform the public about the correct diets to engage in to reduce the effects of HIV and by setting up HIV testing and screening places, which inform people about their infection statuses.
