Lecturer: presented: Gay marriage is the marrying of the same sex which in other terms is called civil union. It has difference from the normal marriage where husband and wife are united through the coming together of man and woman. Gay marriage has not been supported by many people. The community are very against this kind of marriage. In many cases it is referred as evil. It has not been known up to now if this kind of marriage is to be accepted by society. Gay people can not be having children. This is the different from the marriage between man and woman. In normal family, it is composed of father, mother and children. Gay marriage can only have children from somewhere else like adopting. After two people of the same sex marry, one take the role of wife while other one play the role of husband. Gay couple decide that the purpose to marry is to stay together in love but not have babies of their own. But in few years passed, they adopt children and care for them which make the family complete. Gay marriage is getting roots in the modern society. There have become heated up debate in about the gay population. These debates have even caused divisions in the religions, with some religious leaders accepting the practice while others say that the behavior is ungodly. This was seen when Anglican leaders in the America supported a gay bishop. Other religious leaders around the world were very much against that decision. In the political, the issue of gay marriage has taken has become the talk of every day with the people divided in to two. Some people supporting gay marriage, while many people does not. In the United States of America, the debate was largely appearing in the presidential campaigns of 2008 (Dwayne C. Turner, 1997 pp. 23-24). There seems to be some development in the future of gay marriage if the constitution is going to allow gay unions. More people will end to joining the gay marriages when it will be supported by constitutions. This is because society will become forced to allow gay people promoting confidence and self respect among the gay people. The presence of gay people in the public is not so much as at now, although it is more than it was several years ago. There is an increasing of the presence of gay men in the developing and developed countries countries. With the coming of the internet, the number of people who get information about gay marriage is rising and this may result in people to accept of the marriage in the whole world. Internet is where people are communicating about gay marriage and will result in an increase of new people in the gay population. The gay marriage is under the threat of HIV. If the problem of risky sex is not done something about, the gay men sexuality may not be there in time to come. However, with the current campaigns for protected sex, the future of gay men sexuality may become successful. There is reason why there should be no marriage between same sex. For the population to go on increasing after the old can not work any more, children should be born so that to replace the one who become old or die. If man and man marry, they will not get a child. If this goes on and on, there will be no stable population because there will be few children and when they become grown up, there will be few grown up to work and bring development. In other case of woman and woman marry, if they decide to have children in the process of bringing fertilization in external way, there will be danger of causing harm to the woman or the child. It uses high cost and the money can be used to do something else (Paul Morgan 2005 pp.33-44). When two people of same sex marry and get children from adopting, the children grow in a different situation than the common family. When children are born, they have nothing to choose and therefore they grow according to how parent bring them up. When they go to other children in school, they do not understand why other children have mother and father when they have two mothers or two fathers. Before they become big to know, other children may laugh at them and they will feel not in the best place. When they go to higher classes to start reading about family, they will be wondering because it is not in many schools where teachers teach students about gay marriage. For a man and man marriage, the child will feel miserable because it will wish to see the mother like all other children who are loved by mothers. Children become confused due to having many mothers and many fathers. This is because for the child who is cared for by two women, he will see as if they are both mothers because they look alike. If the child is got from adoption, there will be another mother and also there will be the real father. Gay marriage promote the birth of children out of marriage so that the children can be adopted by them. When children grow up, the direction to getting family is seen when they are youth of about 18 years. In many case they do what the parents do. It become confusion if they do not want to marry the way the parent have married. Even their partner can not feel comfortable when they are introduced to parents who are the same sex, and back to their home; they have man and woman as father and mother. It bring difference between both families and this may cause the youth not to marry. This will mean that they will only be welcome if they marry how their parents marry. Gay marriage has been destroying the meaning of marriage (Alan Feldman 2006 pp.27-31). Marriage between the same sexes will support the expanding of a gap between men and women. It is important that these two human being stay together as one because they are the majority in the world. Even animals stay male and female. They give birth and care for the young ones. When the young ones grow up, they stay male and female once more. Human beings were like this before but they changed because of mixing of many people from different culture. This change is not good because culture is supposed to guide the people so that they can not do what is wrong. Gay marriage started with few people but now it is spreading to many people in the whole world. If it goes like this, culture will be broken and even more bad things will come up and people will be suffering. Men and women will be living like two different human beings. It will cause lack of understanding and they can not help each other. Accepting the kind of marriage in the society is bad because even other kinds of marriages will be allowed to start happening in the society, and they can be of unfairness to the children. If gay marriage is supported, other people will go for men marrying many women, and others will marry in the gay style and also marry the opposite sex. This will bring immoralities in the society. The good thing to do is to ensure that the normal marriage goes on and that gay marriage is discouraged. The many traditions and religions prohibit marriage between men. Those who marry are not welcome in a large population in many countries. They become socially abandoned and can not live happily. Legalizing gay marriage will result in the loss of the good morals in the society. This is because homosexuality and lesbian behavior are not accepted in many tradition as well as in religions. According to the laws of many countries, social benefit do not consider people in the same sex marriage. When one of them may die, it becomes difficult for the other to get the benefits like the ones that would be given if somebody was a wife to a man. The law will allow the wife to inherit the property of the husband but if it is two men, he is not protected by the laws to take what belonged to the other man. This will cause problems if one person was depending on the other. If gay marriage is to be accepted by society, the schools will be teaching children that it is like marriage between man and woman. This will be confusion especially in the school where good moral are stressed to be practiced (Harrison Wyne 2003 pp. 44-46). Marriage in this type is supported by few people, meaning that there is a lot of respect for the traditional marriage by many people. It will change the thinking of the society because with time, when so many people have accepted it, more and more of the people are going to see as if it is good. The young children will grow in a society in which the teachings of religion, the traditions of the society and the new kind of marriage will be in a situation of disagreement. The religious believes will be teaching something else than what will be in practice. The traditions will be left and the future children will not get the chance to enjoy the benefits of growing in a family with a father and mother. For the men who marry other men, it is not easy for them to have children of their own. In most cases they will get in to immoral activities in order to get satisfied their needs that can not be satisfied by fellow man. This behavior will be risky at this bad time when there is a lot of disease like HIV and AIDS. Conclusion Gay marriage originated not long time ago. It has started getting in to the society and some country like Netherlands are agreeing to allow it to be happening. It is going to ruin the morals of the society and will change the good marriage traditions of man and woman. There are only few people who are allowing it to happen, but as time goes on and many government agree to legalize the marriage, it is going to be practiced by many people and therefore it will become part of the society. This marriage should not be allowed to go on because it will have many disadvantages for the community. Bibliography 1. Alan Feldman. “Problems Facing the Society Today: The Next Generation”.
