Extract of sample "Climate change"

Climate Change I feel that the United s is not doing enough to combat climate change. As the largest greenhouse gas emissions user, the U.S. needs to take more responsibility when it comes to leading the fight against global warming. It is not encouraging when the United States fails to sign the Kyoto Protocol. While they may not be too happy with all the ins and outs of the deal, it is better to sign it and move forward from there. Once a deal is in place, the United States can push for climate change reforms that it feels are necessary to combat climate change.

Part of the problem with America’s stance on climate change is that many Americans are, as yet, unconvinced about the authenticity of the claims that the earth’s temperature having an effect on global weather conditions. It does not help when some of these skeptical people are sitting members of the United States Congress. If the people in charge of debating laws do not approve of international efforts to deal with climate change, then there can be little hope for the rest of us. The key thing with global warming is that there is a joined international effort to stop it.

Because it affects the whole world, each country is forced to deal with the problem on its own. The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change is the first step to solving the problem. It may not be perfect, but it is a start. It is time that America stood up and realized this fact so that it can do something about it.
