Consequently, the credentials cannot be located or verified (Vizard 1). Objectivity The article aims at informing the audience of the trend in the car models. Its scope that offers new information, based on a forecast approach, establishes the informative aim as the reason for article.

It identifies a transition in manufacturers design for vehicle models and factors that influences the transition as well as potentials that exist and those that are necessary for the transition such as research and development and taste for formula one cars. The article does not persuade me but is instead informative of the environment around car models. Its tone that does not establish preference among alternatives accounts for this. The author is however trying to inform the audience that automotive companies are designing new car models with great appeal to consumers and that this trend is expected to persist.

A neutral tone can be identified in the article as it presents facts and desists from presenting personal opinion on preference of an element (Vizard 1). Currency The article is current as it was published three years ago. In addition, information that it offers is still contemporary as is identified in cities’ dense traffic and the slow transition to electric cars that remain a dream to car owners. It is however difficult to ascertain currency of the information that the author offers because the article lacks citations and references and because the stage of transition in the automotive industry has been continuous (Vizard 1).

Summary The article’s title, ‘cars of the future,’ defines its topic as transition to dream types of cars or ideal types of cars. This identifies a monotonic topic that requires a neutral and informative approach to exposing the audience to factors around cars, efforts to meeting constrains and stimuli that the factors induce, and realized or expected products. The author succeeds in the objective through presentation of necessary elements for knowledge on future cars (Vizard 1). The article is about ideal cars for the environment and notes urban commuters as the target consumers.

According to the author, factors such as environmental regulations have shifted manufactures objectives from speed to appeal. Vision for electric cars has also influenced development of hybrid cars. The author concludes that Europe will be the leader in innovation into the ideal cars as research and development takes the center stage. Other regions such as America and Asia will also play a role in development of the future cars (Vizard 1). Analysis The purpose of the article is to inform the audience of the current state of the automotive industry, focusing on cars, and based on environmental constraints and appeal, and potentials of development of new brands of cars.

Though the objective is not stated explicitly, the article meets it through an informative scope that enlightens on cars. The article is written for the general audience that includes people with interest in cars such as customers and potential customers, environmental science students and professionals, and automotive developers. Applied language in the article is appropriate for the different categories of the audience because of its simplicity (Vizard 1). Works cited Vizard, Frank. “Cars of the future.
