Summary – My Black Dog The essay d “My Black Dog” has been ed by a d Paul Frey in which the student talks about his life events when he got himself enrolled in a program in the field of nuclear technologist (Fawcett 218). The author states that although he had high hope and wanted to do something better in life and although he thought he would enjoy studying, instead he experienced a very stressful situation. The author states that he found the classes to be quite challenging and the assignments and quizzes that came along was increasing his stress.
The author states that he was so stressed that his wife told him that he was becoming mean day by day. The author states that later he came across a pamphlet that was based on the issue of male depression and after reading the pamphlet he believed that he was suffering this disorder. Due to this he discussed the issue with his wife and latter decided to take assistance from a counselor. He went to the student counselor that was practicing with the educational institute he had joined. The counselor was of great help and the counselor guided him in the right direction.
The counselor even encouraged him with the use of an example of a famous historical person named Winston Churchill. After gaining assistance, he was able to get everything back in place and his grades started improving.
