Critical thinking Critical thinking is a very important procedure in peoples lives. In peoples day to day activities, we use critical thinking to solve almost all problems and situations. The process of distinguishing the truth from what is false is referred to as critical thinking. It requires someone to be conversant with the facts surrounding the situation. For example, one should be able to separate facts from non facts and theories. According to (Tittle, p4) critical thinking involves identification of differences, evaluation of assumptions, separating irrelevant facts from relevant facts and exploring on the consequences and implications of the decision which one is going to reach.

An example of when I used critical thinking is when my laptop was stolen at my place. My best friend Max and his distant cousin Gabriel had come over to play video games. After sometime, I noticed my laptop was missing and confirmed this after looking for it all over the house. Max insisted that only Gabriel could have taken it since he was the only person among us who had gone outside. Max insisted we beat him up until he produced the laptop, but after thinking very carefully, I realized that beating him up would do more harm than good so I decided to leave the issue with the police to solve it.

I reported the matter to the police, and Gabriel owned up and I got my laptop back.Critical thinking is not only important in the professional discipline, but it is also important in the basic life. For example, I decided not to agree with max after carefully examining the implications of our action. If we would have beaten him up, we would have been charged with taking the law into our own hands and assault among other things. Therefore, it is important to use critical thinking in order for us to reach sound decisions.
