Give this; the global air transportation network, therefore, remains responsible for the negative and adverse effects that are considered neutral to the environment. The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the Asian and Pacific region mainly engages in making improvements on the efficiency and the safety of innovative procedures and flight operations in the Asian region. ICAO, therefore, made efforts to establish a regional sub-office in this region with the intent of enhancing efficiency in the airspace capacity to accommodate the growth and traffic flow in the region.

Given this, it is essential to note that the global air transportation network just like other industries is responsible for a significant number of adverse effects in the environment. The aviation industry in the Asian and in the Pacific region remains responsible for a small extent of pollution that is estimated at 2 to 3% globally. Air pollution remains the single most environmental issue that faces the global air transportation network. Air engines and jet exhausts are considered to have lower smoke emissions.

However, it is essential to note that pollutant emissions from aircraft significantly increase when aircraft move. On the other hand, a larger proportion of air pollution in the Asian and Pacific regions is equally generated by surface traffic. According to Jovanovic & Vracarevic, the main air pollutant of primary concern in the global air transportation network includes nitrogen dioxide (N02) (n.p). N02, as established in this case is mainly formed by emissions from nitrogen oxide that emergence from surface traffic as well as from airport operations.

The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) in this region has therefore established measures aimed at integrating international standards for certain gaseous and smoke pollutants through the inclusion of new and larger jet engines that restrict the venting of the polluting raw fuels (Curran n.p). One of the common phenomenon’s that relates and influences the global air transportation network lies in the established standards that came into effect a few years ago that were driven towards certifying a particular engine type with the intention of regulating the pollution that emanates from aircraft engines (Williams, George & O’Connell n.p). The global air transportation network also shares a common element that includes the significant sources of emissions emanating from carbon dioxide that present major and significant threats to the government in its efforts to manage emissions.

Actions are therefore underway to engage in ensuring the reduction of the harms caused by air pollution within the global air transportation network that is applicable globally, a factor that clearly relates with the global air transportation network. Conclusion As established in this case, the global air transportation network remains one of the fastest-growing industries in the world. The intense economic development and employment growth within the sector as well as other associated sectors are considered as the positive effects of the air transport network expansion.

Air pollution remains the single most environmental issue that faces the global air transportation network. Air engines and jet exhausts are considered to have lower smoke emissions. Air engines and jet exhausts are considered to have lower smoke emissions.
