Coach Bono’s basic assumptions regarding motivation.

Coach Bono believes in the power of an individual lying within an individual and has a positive response towards the self-driven motivation. In his assumption, he says yes, money can be a motivator, especially when it becomes more than what you pose the person if provided with much of the money can get motivated to do something better than before. But the best of what can work is the person's inner motivation about the aspects that he is undertaking. People are different, and they have various elements that motivate them. Rewards, according to coach Bono, are rewarding and not necessarily the reward be money but a point of competition gaining some point and more so recognition for the best work that has been done makes an individual get motivated. Placing persons together in some competitions and ensure they compete to earn some points and the best is recognized, praised, and given some reward regardless of how small it is it will be a point of motivation. Whatever motivates and individual is different from that other one regardless of the geographical or the age. He argues that some people if they deny the motivating factor, can be motivated to do better than when they have it. For example, if you deny money or make it scares for people, they will work harder to obtain it. But in his assumption, he describes that as negative motivation and does not value the negative motivation as the best in the scenario (Jaswal & Akhtar, 2019). The athletes are supposed to take the tasks at hand even if how small they are, do them to their level best, make sure they are made consistent, and time kept in completing the tasks. Coach Bono has the principles which guide him in the process of motivating athletes. He believes in the confidence that a coach should instill in the team. There should be regular training of the teams and persons on what they need to do so that they can get to reinforce the skills that they have acquired. In coaching of the athletes and other persons, there is a great need to understand the norms of the persons there are being coached in terms of there inner drives. Some people, when you train them, may like when you correct them harshly, while others don’t like harsh approaches; therefore, it is good to know the dynamics of persons that you get to handle during the coaching period. The other principle is that when approaching some aspects in the coaching arena, coach Bono prefers to place people on the stage the challenge on individual and panel the Infront so that when they give their responses, they clearly know the liberations of failing are they are Infront of the public, and it will be upon them to give there best these aspect gives a trigger for them to do their best. In coaching, the mode of communication is key where the coach and the manager view those below him as important then they will feel motivated to listen. Unity during the coaching process is very vital because it enhances compatibility between the coach and those who are being coached (Bartsch & Estes, 2019). Through communication, the coach will be able to know his learners and in terms of their weaknesses and their strengths so that he will be able to know what side to put more emphasis on. The best way of doing the coaching does not need that these being coached are placed below you, but they should be part of you. These will enhance compatibility and unity in the coaching period. People are different and have different capabilities in the group even when there are five members of the class; those are five different kinds of individuals and capabilities; therefore, each will need to be treated in different ways according to there needs. There is always the fear of starting low when people enter into a profession; they need to start high, but that has its own effect; if you start low, you will be able to learn the skills and the basics that are in that particular environment but when to start high them the skills of handling that level will lack in you and the duties will be overwhelming.

Theories of motivation

The goal-setting theory is best suited in the motivation actions of coach Bono. The theory states that the goals that are set and directly linked with the performance outcomes. When a challenging goal is undertaken, then the outcomes get to be good, the individual will automatically get motivated to perform that function better in the next instance. The theory is directed towards the ability of the person to be willing to word to attain the goals, and the best outcome enhances vigor. These outcomes are the gains in the reputation of the individual. This theory is a case where coach Bono talks about the competitions where the rich men were always competing so that every day, they could want to see their performance upon the tasks that they have undertaken they feel when to gain some of the points and get simple rewards (Latham & Locke, 2018). These rewards make them be motivated as they gain recognition of the best performance in the task that they undertake. The theory does talk about self-efficiency in the learners and how it brings about self-confidence and faith that makes individuals improve on their performances. When individuals have a high level of efficiencies, the efforts that they put in the individual will also be great when they are facing the task and challenges that they are undertaking. When the level of efficiency in a person is low, there will be fewer efforts by that individual, and the individual will be discouraged in the challenge and forced to quite the challenge before it is over. The level is the one coach Bono talks about which makes an individual come every time to see what they have achieved not that the rich people in the competition are looking for the rewards so that they can earn money no but that self-confidence and faith they have towards gaining and winning the challenge. This goal-setting theory shows how the techniques raise the individual’s incentives so that he can be able to complete work quickly and in a most effective manner. It also raises the performance of individuals increasing motivation and feedback quality.

The expectation theory also best describes the actions of coach Bono. The theory explains how individuals get motivated because of the outcomes that they expect from performing a particular duty. When they have high expectations about the outcomes, they tend to work more about it and are triggered to perform the best (PENG, S. (2017). When they know that they are expected to have the liberations that will downgrade them, then they will work at there best not to get consequences but gains some rewards and recognition among the competitors. This theory provides a platform for which employees will use in better understanding how they can motivate their subordinates as the coach Bono talks about the needs of coaches understanding their learners in terms of there capability .the theory emphasizes on individuals perceptions about interaction arising the personal expectations and positive correlation of efforts and performance as coach Bono talks about performance and the results in the desired rewards.

Coach Bono’s way of approaching different situations and individuals

Coach Bono uses different motivational approaches to different individuals, and in his action, he takes about how people are diverse in the way they perceive different aspects, including coaching; therefore, to have all persons engaged in the coaching and his needs achieved, then Bono has the best approached on those persons. His actions also speak a lot about the process for people who are out to seek for positions, and they want to start high; the point is given that there is a need for them to start low starting low makes people who have not attained much of the skilled to be more equipped with time as they undertake the tasks allocated upon them. According to Bono, different people have different factors that are motivating them their difference in what motivates them makes the coach ensure that their ins communication is made efficient so that the coach gets to understand their motivators, and by understanding their motivators, then it will make coaching a success. Then the difference in the people's perception about the handling of problems there are those who are comfortable when the harsh pronunciation of mistakes and they do correction while other don’t regard that system and are pointed towards humble correction and the solution to those differences is the coach getting to know the learners. When hiring individuals to work in an organization, it is best to make sure that they make sure there is a wide range of persons in terms of there capability; these will have a good and conducive environment for some will be able to give guidance upon the rest.

Lessons from Bono’s way of coaching

For performance to be enhanced, there is a need to have professional pride where individuals need to train and have the required skills in performing the tasks that they are intended to perform. The new managers should know about the people because people are different and they have different needs and capabilities. Therefore, they need to take their trainees as different entities, and each should be given different attention depending on their capacity. The new managers should not use just one motivator to the group of people because what can motivate person X cannot motivate person Y even in similar situations. When coaching the new coaches, they should learn about the communication that the coach Bono has used, where he talks about unity, enhancing the confidence of the students and the employees to have compatibility. Therefore, a coach can have a good ability, but if there is a lack of proper communication, then it will be a challenge to drive some changes into the learners. New coaches will go to the field and expect to find the right people, but the lesson from Bono is that there is no right individual that the coach may find but those that are found the coach should know them to understand there weakness and strengths by knowing that it becomes vey easy to make your approach and ensure that the performance is improved. The coaches should be able to know that when an individual does not know and see the opportunity that exists in terms of improvement, then it will be difficult for them to have an improvement. Therefore, the coaches should be able to show the learners the opportunities the space that is there for them to make an improvement, and that will boost them towards high performance.
