The chosen reading comes from Anthony Weston's Book titled Creativity for critical thinkers. Antony presented critical thinking as one for the most fundamental principles to solving problems. Anthony uses well illustrated examples to present his point that critical thinking is crucial in everyday problem solving. The author states that the public should not view a problem as a burden but, take every challenge that they face as an opportunity for critical thinking and solve the problem. Anthony explains the steps in critical thinking by highlighting key fundamental concepts that each and every need to poses to solve problems critically and efficiently.
Anothony in his book takes scholars through the most significant steps of critical thinking. He associates critical thinking with creativity and goes ahead to give the detailed steps in attaining the ability of being a critical thinker. He articulates that the first step of critical thinking is creativity and associates the creativity with changing ones mind set towards a problem. Anthony brings to light the current state in the world towards adopting a problem. He articulates that no one wants to have a problem1. He even states what most of the people do when confronted with a problem. Many People often hurry to try and solve it then tuck it away in a safe box (Weston 2007, 5).
Anothony however, presents a different view from the standard perspective adapted by most people. He suggests that people should welcome problems and view them as a chance to use their imagination to change the world. Anthony states that a problem is an opportunity for people to be imaginative and a good chance to change the world (Weston 2007, 5). He encourages people to see the push that problem experience as a motivation or a pull to words a better world. Inspiration plays a great role when we adopt Anothony’s critical thinking model. This leads us to view the a problem as an opportunity to have fun and even make some money by offering problem solving consultancy services. Creative thinking as explained by Anathony leads to excellent unexploited opportunities that are beneficial to the world today. The process of creativity in solving problems open up the world of creativity that requires one to change the world socially and technologically. Creativity this is crucial in the process for making human life better by thinking out of the box.
Q. 6 Paraphrase of Anothony Critical thinking examples.
Anthony presents an important fact that is crucial in problem solving. He gives reference to an interview that requires the applicant for a job position to think out of the box. The panel posed a situation where the interviewee is driving his or her sports two seats and comes across an old friend who at one, time saved his life and another man who is experiencing a heart attack. At the same bus stop is also a woman or man of his dreams. The panel then posed the question, what would the Interviewer do? Anthony explains that many applicants failed the challenge or did not want to think out of the box. Of applicants, only a single applicant was bold and creative enough to give the answer that panel expected. Many of the other applicants gave varied answers that confined them to solving the problem at hand. Many suggested leave the beautiful woman and old friend to attend to the emergency at hand. However, the best Candidate proposed of giving the car to his great friend to take the person under heart attack to the Hospital. This would give him a chance to remain with the beautiful woman and chat as they wait for a bus.

Anthony’s work is very relevant to class teaching. Students should view problems as opportunities and motivation to be creative and think critically to solve problems. The teaching in class conquers with Anthony work on steps to solve challenging problems. However, this acts as a blessing in disguise for it presents a solution to the problem previously found an answer. This appears in Anthony's in an example he gives of vehicles pollution. He refers to school students who take the problem to modify the combustion engine to use vegetable oil as fuel.
The problem answers come here at first it come as a blessing by enabling people to move more easily and commute at higher speeds. The innovation becomes a problem when it starts polluting the whole world. It is impossible to do without cars in today's economy and the pollution problem requires a solution. Many creative thinkers have come with more flexible and creative solutions such as hybrid cars, electric cars and large bus. This makes the world to be full of creative thinkers who solve the problems head on making life better. The ability to solve problems critically is essential in every person's life. The skill may provide employment as consultancy services and in the process solve other problems as unemployment in the society1.
