Disney Strategies The swift change in the development of media as well as its globalization has led to the need for Disney to accelerate its structural adjustment. Disney from its beginnings has been a leader in its sector of the film industry and it has, for a long time remained without any equal. While this has been the case, over the years, this company has come to be faced with many rivals which have given it plenty of competition in the film industry especially with the development of new technology.

Despite this, while other companies continue to find a niche in the film industry, Disney has remained comfortable and even popular, and it has continued to rely on this popularity to maintain its position at the top of the film industry. This, however, should not be the case because of the fact that other companies are also on the rise through the use of innovation as well as the marketing strategies which are making them increasingly popular. Therefore, it has become necessary for Disney to work towards creating an environment where its employees feel at home and this is to ensure that there is a constant increase in the company’s creative output.

The homey feeling which will be developed among its employees at the workplace will provide Disney with the added advantage over its rivals because it will be able to attract the best talent in the industry to work within its ranks. Disney should not allow itself to be influenced by the impersonal nature of the working environment that is developing in the film industry but should instead remain in an environment where its employees are provided with the best opportunity to work as well as to be innovative.

One of the ideals of a company that works within a cross-cultural environment such as the film industry is the empowerment of its audience and one of the ways to achieve this has been giving them forums to air their views concerning what they feel about the different products at Disney. The best strategy that Disney can adopt is ensuring that it places a lot of value in the audiences of its productions. This can be achieved through the development of an empowerment program which ensures that the pool of their audiences is maintained through the adoption of marketing strategies that appeal to their vanity.

Disney should ensure that its marketing staff have sufficient knowledge concerning how the market works and what the public wishes to see so that they do not take a lot of time to make adjustments to marketing strategies. It can be said that the experience of am audience, after watching a Disney production, will work in the company’s favor when conducting its activities and it is very likely that Disney, through its efficient marketing strategy will be able to get to a global audience faster than rival companies (Calandro, 2010).

An example of this is when one considers the fact that girls who are young watch television programs such as Hannah Montana, which is considered to be among the best programs for teenagers. It is necessary for Disney to work towards the acquisition of competent managers for projects since this is one of the reasons why many companies in the world today have become successful and have been able to retain their success. Disney needs competent managers because it is through the acquisition of such managers that the company can be able to ensure that it does not face any damaging issues because of the mismanagement of projects.

Despite the fact that previously it was a subject which was not taken based on merit, the selection of project managers at Disney has now developed into a massive undertaking. This has created the need for the company to have people of competence to working on projects, because to not do so would be to doom the company to failure. When managing film projects, those who are in charge of them have to be able to ensure that they have complete control of these projects, otherwise, they may not turn out as they were expected, leading to a loss of money and audiences.

In addition, project managers should adopt a strategy that is so well done it touches the emotions of the audiences and as long as more people continue to appreciate and enjoy the films which come from such projects, then it is more likely than not that Disney will continue to be a success story in the film industry well into the future.
