Download file to see previous pages However, presently art can generally be looked at as a form used by human beings to communicate, express and show their feelings and emotions through the use of words, drawings, lines, music, poetry, sounds, patterns and films.
Poetry has always been an admirable form of art. According to Olsen, poetry refers to the “utterance of the absolute truth, beauty and power” that is used to embody and illustrate concepts in a fancy and modulated language (16). Therefore, poetry is simply a form of art that uses words to express moods, emotions and feelings such as love. Poetry has generally been used to describe our norms and culture. Individually, poetry has for a long time helped to communicate feelings and emotions. It is therefore an art that can be used to clear emotional distress and pain through ones connections with the words of the poet. Poems also enables one to get an idea of what is going on in the mind of the poet without really having to meet them physically.
Poetry plays a big role in life and society at large. For instance, most poems brings up life at times when one feels alone and abandoned. It usually focuses on helping the readers to have a better understanding on the different aspects of life. Poetry therefore enables us to communicate significant experiences through creativity and pure imagination thereby deepening our understanding of senses. Besides, poetry has also been used occasionally in the society to explain the different acts affecting the individuals. For example, the use of poems can help in the pleasuring of difficult experiences such as hard labor, poverty and even death through the use of inspirational and optimistic phrases. The employment of stylistic devices such as metaphor, symbolism, imagery, irony and connotation can help the society to look at various paradoxes that exist in life at different angles thereby enabling it to debate and decide on the ...Download file to see next pagesRead More
