The authors who are also the researchers at the Arts College, Visakhapatnam have performed an in-depth analysis concerning power system involving operations with the help of wavelet transforms. Firstly, they have defined control system as a very complicated and interconnect system that is characterized by varieties of faults. In addition, they have gone further to claim that each of these faults participates in the total collapse of the system unless ratified automatically.
The authors have made an effort of identifying the location of these faults by undertaking the relay operation analysis. In doing this, they took an advantage of the wavelet transforms to visualize the fault that assisted them in identifying both the locations, as well as the fault type. However, they noted the main challenge that they encountered during their research work. That problem relied on the fact that wavelets in most cases focus the information in the frequency-time plane. Consequently, varieties of signals are always received in such planes that reduce the efficiency of the localization of the faults. In addition, they made comparisons between the wavelet transform (WT), and the spikes transients’ conventional time-frequency transform (STFT). They pointed out that though wavelet transform faces the challenge of multiple signals, they are more convenient as far as identification of the fault is concerned that the (STFT). In this case, they concluded by saying that WT provides a better-compromised localization than the other available approaches such as (STFT).
In this research work of thermal analysis, the authors made comparisons and analysis of varieties of duct cross-sections. To achieve this, they used software known as Altair hyper work to assist them in computation.
