The major aim of this discipline is to provide a leeway into understanding how humans think and why people change based on the issues arising from a social perspective (White, 2008). The micro and macro levels of interaction are very important in meeting these attributes, something that allows academicians to understand the social structures present and the systems in place.
The progress of any society will only be complete if people can understand the main ideals that provide the major scientific notions within the society and which at all times provide analytical understanding of different human interactions (Mitchell, 2007). This discipline is widely seen as a major influencing factor in everyday activities because it informs the political governance structures and defines the policies that suit the society in general. It borrows a lot from the religious and cultural beliefs and norms, hence the need to understand its ideals (White, 2008).
The society is mainly defined by its religious alignments. The social structures amongst the Christians and Muslims are different and can also not compare to those of the Hindu, Jewish, Sikh or other religious affiliations. As such, it is important to understand these differences and come up with ways of dealing with the situation (Mitchell, 2007). The amicable resolution amongst the policymakers will play a huge role in defining and determining the way people think and behave. Christianity has its beliefs, traditions, morals and norms. These are quite important in defining what is right or wrong, hence the need to work on meeting the immediate needs of the society members (White, 2008).
