Restaurants, eating joints and fast food cafes are the other notable changes that are observed in the streets than it happened 60 years ago. According to the interviewees, the streets were more popular with clubs and discotheques 60 years ago, and it was not so easy to spot a restaurant or eating joints along the streets as it happens now. The change has been so transformative, that it is rare to pass two neighboring commercial entities without one of them being an eating joint, a restaurant or a fast-food café. The fast-food cafes however have grown at a higher rate than almost any other type of business.
The other notable change in the streets, according to the intervieews, is the ease of accessibility of banking services on the streets. It is almost certain that one will find at least an ATM machine if not a bank branch within any street that one walks along. This was not the case 60 years ago, where accessing banking services required moving to the inner parts of the town. The banks were also few and distantly spaced than it happens now. Clothing and fashion enterprises have also increased many folds compared to 60 years ago. There are different fashions nowadays that would have been considered shameful back then, but they are easily won and available on the streets with almost everyone. With this change in fashion, differentiating males from the females on the streets is increasingly hard, since fashion has changed towards becoming more unisex. Additionally, there are so many cars on the streets and every woman is now driving, something that was not common 60 years ago. Most cars back then were family cars, and it was men who could be spotted driving, as opposed to now when men, women and even very young people are all driving.
