For the very first time I heard in the 3rd century in Greek, the quotation, “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder”, was used to imply the possibility of various people interpreting beauty in varied ways. From the various definitions such as dictionaries and scholarly articles, beauty may be defined as a set of qualities, including shape, form, color or any other aspect that tends to please the senses of aesthetics. This is especially superficially concerning the site. The Merriam-Webster Dictionary explicitly defines beauty as the aggregate of qualities or the quality exhibited by a person or any item that can exalt the mind or spirit pleasurably. I believe that the entire society is getting it twisted when it comes to what is seen as beautiful. It is quite impossible getting the actual definition of beauty, based on the fact that it is relative and only depends on the perceiver. With the expansion of the habits and traditions of the Americans, the meaning of the word beauty is also constantly changing and adjusting to fit into the context. Sincerely speaking, since when does it stand out that sex appeal, plastic surgery or the figure that one has sum up to their beauty? In the American society, the way an individual looks is recognized as very crucial. The current generation has gotten to the point of basing aesthetic beauty on fashion and trends.
