 There is an emerging distress among medical practitioners. Individuals do not give health issues the attention they deserve. Modern day lifestyles have evolved to disregard health. Maintaining health is a personal issue. People should assume the responsibility for taking care of their bodies. Individuals should be with the well-being of their bodies. Nettleton (1995) clarifies that the environment people live in, and the way they live determines their health status. The negligence of modern people to health has had a negative impact on their health.
 The modern-day individual is focused on their careers and wealth before worrying about health. Most people are forced to indulge in activities that expose them to illnesses. Nevertheless, they do not care because of the amount of money they make. There have been a growing number of diseases associated with hazardous working environments. Menhert (2011) reveals that employees working in radioactive environments are prone to contracting cancer.
 Social factors like relationship and happiness have become more important than human health. People do not care about the implications that what they do or what they eat has on their health. However, there has been emerging attention towards health in the media these days. Nettleton (2013) points out that modern media houses are resorting to promoting health issues. Despite these efforts, most modern people are stuck in unhealthy lifestyles. Foods from Genetically modified organisms plague food stores in developed countries.
