The film shows the lifestyle of certain key characters that were present in the last movie. The movie plot gives the picture of the characters progress in life showing their lives changed afterward in relation with the events that unfold (The Boys of the St. Vincent). The characters in the previous movie with substantial life changes with the development of events are Kevin, Steven, Brian, Glacken and Lavin.
According to the Neutralization theory, when a person feels guilty he/she is likely to use some tactics to justify him/herself in the eye of the law and not to feel guilty. The aim in such a case is to being excused by the society and gets a lenient punishment (The Boys of the St. Vincent)t. The reaction to the accusation can take the form of a denied responsibility when a person says he/she is not is responsible. Another form is the denied damage, saying there is no harm done, or denied victim status, saying victim deserves its fortune, or appealing to the greater good or any other forms.
There is a variety of examples in the film when accused person behave correspondingly to the Neutralization Theory.
