Marital conflicts and wrangles are well solved when the couples are well versed with effective communication techniques. This ensures that the couples experience a perfect matrimonial union, longevity in health and a happier marriage in both the happy and tough times. As couples encounter disagreements it often leads to frequent fights that eventually result into matrimonial fights. Misunderstandings and insult experienced leads to malfunction of the marriage leading to an eventual breakage of the marriage. Therefore, in the near future, if the couple fails to maintain a good rapport between them, communication degenerates hence leading to failure of many marriages. Such knowledge will make couples be more transparent to one another in sharing all that pertains to making their marriage happy, healthy, and long lasting.
The family is the basic unit in the society. The main functions of a family are for socialization, companionship, intimacy, procreation, economic support, co-operation, and continuity of the family line. Long time ago the family system was not as common as it is today. In the U.S around the year, 1990, most families had 3 generations living home, i.e. father, mother, children, grandparents, uncles, aunties, and cousins. Today, these are the most common family structures: the nuclear family that is composed of father, mother, and children, being the most preferred. The other is the blended family that occurs due to separation and divorces. Hence, it includes; step parents and step children.
