One of the biggest differences between suburban and urban living has to do with the type of housing you would like to dwell in. Living in an apartment or condo can be convenient, because you do not have to worry as much about upkeep. The landlord maintains household utilities, and there is no need to worry about landscaping or home improvement and maintenance. You also do not have to worry about paying property taxes. However, you also get much diversity of less space for your money. If you are raising a family, it might be much more financially feasible to live in a house in the suburbs, unless you want to end up sacrificing privacy when the kids get the older. Also young children and pets need to get exercise and play, and the safest easiest environment for this is your own yard. If you live in the city you might not have the time to supervise your kids all the time at the park, so a suburban area may be a safer, more convenient choice. Another difference has to do with culture. Urban living offers a great diversity of experience and people. There is always something to do in the city, where you can find an eclectic mix of shopping, restaurants, theatres, museums, and almost anything else you could imagine.
