Download file to see previous pages The study will assume an anonymous name to describe the personality of a real person. James comes from one the developed urban centers in the country. He comes from a middle-class family and has two younger brothers. One of the most notable characters of James is that he finds it easy to talk to people. James can easily make someone feel comfortable because of the manner he talks and handles himself. James gets frustrated and gets a foul mood when he is faced with some difficult tasks. He hates being the only one who cannot accomplish a specific task in our group of friends. It is not easy for James to talk about serious personal issues that touch on his real feelings because he does not trust easily. James’ inability to trust explains why he never likes to share his problems with anyone. Sometimes he can be extremely quiet and sometimes extremely happy. He has a habit of changing his mood so fast. He is afraid to offend his superiors and can suffer in silence. In summary, James is a friendly person who does not trust easily and finds it hard to share his true thoughts.
Psychology has different ways of approaching the study of personality. Personality theories can be classified into trait, biological, behavioral, psychodynamic, and humanist theories (Schultz & Schultz, 2013). The different theories emphasize different aspect in the explanation of theories. The theories based on the biological approach emphasize those genetics plays a major role in the personality. The behavioral theories claim that personality is the result of interaction between an individual and the environment. The psychodynamic theories insist on the role of the unconscious mind and childhood experiences. The humanist theories claim that everyone has the free will to develop his or her personality. Trait theories claim personality is comprised of many different traits.
