The product will be packaged through folding of cartons with three different color prints and will be produced in small runs. There are various forms of color printing that can be used in packaging of products (Bilski, Paz, Frenner, & Osten, 2013). To begin with, there is the flexographic printing system that usually reduces environmental waste of resources and also promotes cost reduction procedures leading to proper environmental control (Garland, & Pan, 2014). It reduces and controls print spoilage and it is one of the methods for cost effective production to the company. This method of printing also reduces gripper wastage and usually leads to better nesting of products (Nam-Soo, & Han, 2010). The method therefore, is much cost effectively as it design high quality products and controls a number of WIP inventory wastages as well (Vaezi, Seitz, & Yang, 2013).
There is also the lithography printing method which usually provides reduction in color tones and can provides various drawing designs such as crayon, pen as well as pencil drawing designs (Vaezi, Seitz, & Yang, 2013). It mostly involves a number of procedures including dampening of images with water and then later coating them with ink of high quality. The system is very effective as it produces high volume of prints which is also produced in short period of time. In that sense, the system effectively saves the company operational cost including electricity cost. The plates from the lithography printing methods can also be reused hence this is the best method to use in cases of larger runs (Vaezi, Seitz, & Yang, 2013). Offset lithography, therefore, will lead to cost reduction in packaging with consequent increase in profitability.
